Rabbi Samuel L. Spector

Rabbi Spector serves as clergy for Congregation Kol Ami in Salt Lake City. He attended the University of California, San Diego, where he graduated with Cum Laude honors with a B.A. in Judaic Studies, a minor in Behavioral Psychology, and was elected Phi Beta Kappa. He received his Masters in Hebrew Letters and Rabbinic Ordination from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles. He is currently a member of the Central Conference of American Rabbis and on the board of the Pacific Area Reform Rabbis.

Brent L. Top:

Brent L. Top is a professor of Church History & Doctrine and Dean of Religious Education at Brigham Young University. He was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho and served a full-time mission to the Denmark Copenhagen Mission. He received a Bachelors degree in history, a Masters degree in Instructional Media and Ancient Scripture, and a Ph.D. in Instructional Science and Technology, all from Brigham Young University, where he graduated with honors. Prior to joining the BYU Religion faculty in 1987, Brother Top worked with the Church Educational System as a seminary and institute instructor and administrator. He is the author of 20 LDS church books and numerous articles on doctrinal, historical, educational, and sociological subjects. Professor Top has received the Student Alumni Association’s Teacher of the Year Award and the Robert J. Matthews Award for Teaching Excellence in Religious Education at Brigham Young University.

Dr. Top and his family lived in Israel while he taught Old and New Testament at the BYU Jerusalem Center for Near-Eastern Studies. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Wendy and they are the parents of four children and the proud grandparents of thirteen (and a half). Brent and Wendy reside in Pleasant Grove, UT.Brother Top has served in the Church in many capacities including as a teacher and advisor in all of the Aaronic Priesthood quorums, Sunday School teacher, High Priest group leader, high council (three times), counselor in a bishopric, bishop, and first counselor in a stake presidency, and mission president of the Illinois Peoria Mission.

Imam Azam Akram

Imam Azam Akram serves as the Regional for the Muslim Community. He, his wife, and 3 children reside in Monroe, Washington. Azam travels about the Northwest keeping in touch with Ahmadi Muslim living east of the Cascades and as far south as Oregon, whilst introducing through various initiatives. In 2014 he received his Degree in Theological Studies from Jamia Ahmadiyya Canada. After 3 years serving throughout the East Coast and the Midwest, he and his family moved to their new assignment in the Pacific Northwest. Born in Africa, bilingual, and with a deep understanding of a third language-Quranic , he offers a unique perspective on equity, diversity, and inclusion. He continuously works to support interfaith harmony, social service projects, education, and justice for all.
