1:45 - 5:45 E. L. Ogden Attendance 4 Order good Compared author list with publisher’s catalogues. Miss Luttrell came in, read report and talked of various library matters. Dean McDermott glanced over report, and answered various questions... As to increasing the use of books among students, said he did not think the library could do anything to help. That it is possible for students to get along by using their own case books, that they are urged not to stop there, but to look up original sources but it will be a work of time to get them to do this. As to order in the morning, he comes in occasionallyto get tell them totake off theirhats and not totalk so loud. He thinks the mere presence of some one in charge would have a good effect, even if the supervisor does not know much about the books. He thinks if some one could be found to come only part of the morning that 9 to12 would be preferable and close the library entirely at other times. Said he would speak to Mr. Kirkman about changing the bulletin board. Looked over list of books not found when inventory L L shelf list was checked and picked out those that ought to be replaced. Approved idea of a pamphlet collection and recommended writing for all free material for which slips were submitted to him- These included pretty much everything- federal & state docs. & pams. except labor laws.
