Ogden Attendance 1 Proceeded with copying of subject list- Building was so cold that copying was done after 3:00 at the Carnegie Library. Came back at 5:30 to see that all was in order before leaving. Books borrowed over holidays by bar exam class were returned in good condition. Rooms had been mopped, but cobwebs in evidence and tables and window sills not dusted. Wiped them off, also desk. Books received: ALR 14 and a vol. of Atl Reporter, 114. Also Bouvier’s dictionary v.1-3. Case and Comment Nov/Dec 1921 Mice had attacked “advance sheets” on shelves- 7-10 L.Luttrell Attendance 0 “Quite cool! Left at 9:00" Tuesday, January 3, 1922 1:45 - 5:45 E. L. Ogden Attendance 1 Fairly comfortable but was informed that no classes had been held since the holidays because of lack of heat. Man came and oiled sills but floors had not been swept nor cobwebs removed. Finished copying subject list; Rearranged other lists and corrected Reading Room Inventory to conform with recent changes. Forgot to note that some days before the holidays a bulletin board was installed. It’s location is neither handsome nor convenient, but was determined, said the Dean, because it could not be placed elsewhere without defacing walls. First notice posted concerned Christmas holidays. Jan. 3- Posted notice of new books. (Bouvier) Left note with Mr. Lindley (janitor) with the Dean suggesting posting notice that the Library would continue to be open evenings until the end of term. Also left him a duplicate key to Librarian’s desk with note of location of Bulletin Board key. 7 - 10 Miss Wiley Attendance 1 Wednesday, Jan. 4, 1922 1:45 - 5:45 E .L. Ogden Attendance 4 Order good Posted notice of new books and books missing. Room not swept since Jan. 2. Began count of books in library, working from lists. Concluded changes in lists necessitated by transfer of books before the holidays, marking locations on cards for author list and on classified lists. 7-10 L.Luttrell Attendance 1 Order good Library warm - comfortable The student present told me that classes had not yet become regular, therefore the library is not frequented. Ogden Attendance 5 Order good No readers after about 4- Finished count of books, (subject to verification) total 3683 volumes and 219 duplicates Began collation of Tenn. Reports Friday, January 6, 1922 1:45 - 5:45 E. L. Ogden Attendance 9 Order good Continued collation of Tenn reports- Mice have been at Advance Sheets of the Reporter again- Janitor says he has been catching numbers of them- Rooms have been swept and waste basket emptied. Heat off at 1p.m.- Mr. Wadlington and Mr. Shaefer represented the desirability of having supervision of reading room in morning as well as afternoon - say it is noisy and needs regulation. Dean McDermott said he had made individual inquiry of all 2nd students (except 1 absent) concerning the two books on evidence (Thayer & Jones) recently taken from the library. Examined the following for pamphlet and other law literature of possible interest - result 31 slips Publishers Weekly, Nov.19-Dec. 17, 1911 Ms. Cat. Docs. Miss May Wiley returned desk key. and volunteered the statement that her sister Nell might be willing to come mornings if desired. Dean McDermott reports that he is not including the Law Library equipment in his inventory report. Asked a student about conditions in the morning - he says, except for the confusion in changing classes conditions are all right for study.
