WBC International Championships About the Middleweight division David Lemieux scored a twelve round unanimous decision over defending WBC International Middle-weight champion Karim Achour last Saturday night May 26th at the Centre Videotron in Quebec City (Canada), but could not win the title having failed to make the WBC weight limit the day before. In agreement with the WBC governing rules , the title was declared vacant. In view of the unexpected situation created, the Committee considered it fair and proper to accept the proposal of Mr. Frank Warren and, therefore, decided to upgrade to the higher status of WBC International vacant full title bout the following Championship:

South Africa’s promoter Rodney Berman reported that current WBC International Minimum weight champion Dee Jay Kriel sprained his hand in a training session . Kriel was due to defend his crown against Toto Landero next June 23rd. Mr. Berman has now re-scheduled the bout for next September 1st. (Reported by Rodney Berman on May 22nd 2018)

*The Committee is seriously considering the possibility of staging the vacant WBC International Flyweight Silver championship in the wonderful city of Palangka Raya, island of Borneo, Central Kalimantan. Further information will be provided as soon as Indonesiam promoter Armin Tan confirms the date of the fight. Local fighter Hamson Lamandau against TBA. More to come. *There is also a lot of interest for the WBC International 115Lbs vacant Championship to be staged in South Africa next July 27th. That would be for the 2018 Centenary of Nelson Mandela, a two-year programme to honour its founder. The vacant title will be contested between South African champion Yanga Sigqipo and Philippines’ René Dacquel. More to come. (There is also an alternative for this Championship to be held in China).
