Twenty-three species of deep-water lobsters in the families Nephropidae, Palinuridae, Polychelidae and Scyllaridae are recorded from the continental shelf and slope off eastern Australia. Ten species and two genera have not been previously recorded from Australia. These are Acanthacaris tenuimana, Projasus parkeri, Polycheles baccatus, P. euthrix, P. granulatus, Stereomastis andamanensis, S. helleri, S. sculpta, S. suhmi and Willemoesia bonaspei. The deep water lobster fauna of eastern Australia is compared with those of other Indo-Pacific areas. A key is given to all deep-water lobster species recorded from Australian waters. REVISION OF THE GENUS PARAPAGURUS (ANOMURA: PAGUROIDEA: PARAPAGURIDAE), INCLUDING REDESCRIPTIONS OF THE WESTERN ATLANTIC SPECIES by Rafael Lemaitre Lemaitre, R.: Revision of the genus Parapagurus (Anomura: Paguroidea: Parapaguridae), including redescriptions of the western Atlantic species. As a result of a revision of the genus Parapagurus Smith, three genera are proposed: Para• pagurus sensu stricto, Strobopagurus gen. nov., and Sympagurus Smith reinstated. Diagnoses of the three genera are given, and a number of structures are described. A key to aid in the identification of the genera of the family is presented. All taxa heretofore assigned to Parapagurus are reassigned. Four species of Parapagurus and six of Sympagurus occur in the western Atlantic, including a new species, Sympagurus acinops. All western Atlantic species are redescribed. Parapagurus abyssorum (Filhol) is a senior homonym of the eastern Pacific Parapagurus abyssorum Henderson, and a new name, Parapagurus holthuisi, is given to Henderson's taxon. The subspecies of Parapagurus pilosimanus Smith and Sympagurus bicristatus (A. Milne Ed• wards) are elevated to specific rank. Sympagurus arcuatus A. Milne Edwards & Bouvier, is a junior synonym of Sympagurus gracilis (Henderson). The treatment of each species includes a synonymy, illustrations, comments on symbiotic associations, and a distributional map. Keys to aid in the identification of the western Atlantic species are presented. The morphological variation of the western Atlantic species of Sympagurus is described. -

The new species has oval, widened carapace, anterolateral margins with seven triangular teeth (excluded the postorbital tooth and included the epibranchial tooth). A worldwide taxonomic and distributional synthesis of the deep-water hermit crab genus Oncopagurus Lemaitre, 1996 is presented. This genus, originally defi ned for 10 species is set apart from other Parapaguridae as well as other Paguroidea, by one synapomorphy: the presence of an upwardly curved epistomial spine. This study is based on a large amount of specimens deposited in major museums and collected during deep-sea sampling across the world oceans since the late 1800s, with the bulk of material coming from French campaigns in the Indo-Pacifi c, central and south Pacifi c during the last 40 years. A total of 24 species are recognised in this investigation, nine of which are new and fully described and illustrated. All previously known species are diagnosed or re-described, including fi gures assembled from recent published accounts or newly illustrated, of the most important morphological features useful for identifi cations. Information for each species includes a synonymy (full or abbreviated if a synonymy has recently been published), material examined (type and non-types), variations when signifi cant, colouration when available, habitat or type of housing used, distribution, and remarks on taxonomy and morphological affi nities. Rare colour photographs are included for fi ve species. -
Archaeosculda Phoenicia N. Gen., N. Sp. (Crustacea, Stomatopoda, Pseudosculdidae) from the Upper Cretaceous (Cenomanian) of Lebanon

(Crustacea, Stomatopoda, Pseudosculdidae) from the Upper Cretaceous (Cenomanian) of Lebanon Abstract - The second species and genus of Pseudosculdidae is described from the Cenomanian of Lebanon. Archaeosculda phoenicia n. gen., n. sp. resembles Pseudosculda laevis in the subcylin- drical body form and raptorial claw, but differs chiefly in the broad and subovate rather than elongate, triangular telson, presence of prominent instead of indistinct primary teeth lateral to the primary sub- median teeth, and the broad instead of slender uropodal endopod. In addition, at about 75 mm in length, Archaeosculda phoenicia attains a considerably larger size than Pseudosculda laevis, which is known to reach 55 mm in length. The status of Pseudosculdidae is discussed and a list of the known fossil unipeltatans is given. Key words: Crustacea, Stomatopoda, Pseudosculdidae, Upper Cretaceous, Lebanon.
