Programme and Events Manager The management of the Life Fitness Zone came under my portfolio of responsibilities in January 2018. Over the past year there has been an increase of 9% in visits to the Life Fitness Zone and I’m overwhelmed to report that Life Fitness Zone members now contribute to 16% of total visits by all users of the Avantidrome. We have seen a constant flow of Senior Citizens in the Senior Fitness Classes and their attendance has also contributed to regular social gatherings at the Bikery Café. A recent audit carried out by OSH Box revealed that our Health and Safety system has evolved over the last few years and we have appropriate procedures and policies in place to provide a safe facility for all users. The highlight of this year was when the infield was overnight, transformed into an oasis of spa pools. The organisation was so thrilled with the venue that they are bringing the expo back to Cambridge in 2018. Adding to the highlights we also had a banquet dinner for 200 people in the infield and APL, one of our valued sponsors, held their children’s Christmas Party also in the infield. This just emphasises the diversity of this world class venue. A full time caretaker has recently been employed which ensures that our facility and surroundings will be well maintained, preparing once again to be showcased as an international venue for the upcoming UCI World Cup next January. Going forward our focus is to keep the facility in top shape and continue to stay abreast of Health and Safety compliance providing a safe and enjoyable experience to our community and high performance users.
