Programme: European Social Fund Contact Name: Carina Roos person: Title/profession: Project Manager E-mail: [email protected] Telephone: +46 320 217681 Address: Marks kommun, LoAm 511 80 KINNA Organisation: Mark Municipality, Municipality and Borås Municipality cooperate in the field of social activities for long-term unemployed. The municipalities are located in western and differ both in size (from 10 000 to 100 000 inhabitants) and economic structure. We work together to exchange knowledge and experience in the field of employment with the aim of increasing the miobility of our citizens. Project idea: The ongoing MAST project is looking for European partners interested to participate in a transnational exchange of experiences and maybe also to exchange trainees in the future.

The project is already approved and ongoing, and the three are now looking for a transnational partner for the project.

The main objective of the EU-funded project is to: • Create a new structure and method for how to work with long- term unemployed citizens in order to get them “job-ready”. • Provide the participants with the right “tools” and increase their possibilities to enter into the labour market/studies/starting their own business. • Increase cooperation between municipalities, employment services and business in order to support the unemployed.

The target groups for the project are long term unemployed between 16-64 years.

The activities to be carried out in the project will be: • The program for the participants’ starts with “Startsträckan” (an introduction phase). We aim to have a holistic view in Startsträckan, with elements that we think are necessary to become job-ready (motivation/self esteem/goals, etc). The next step for the participants is to get themselves a suitable trainee/apprenticeship placement. The project’s focus is on the participants themselves taking control and responsibility over their situation. This also includes the searching of a placement and the shaping of the content of the apprenticeship. • Through OCN, (Open College Network), we will spread the results including the acquired skills and competences of the participants of the MAST–project. OCN will also serve as a quality assurance of the activities in the project.
