Driven by Performance, Sami Valimaki and Robin Roussel join Team TaylorMade for the next chapter of their careers by choosing to play a full bag of TaylorMade Equipment

The two European Tour rookies are the latest faces to have joined the strongest Tour Staff in the World, choosing TaylorMade’s Industry-Leading Products

Basingstoke, Hants. (March 06, 2020) – TaylorMade Company announced today that Sami Valimaki and Robin Roussel have chosen to sign with TaylorMade Golf as they begin the next phase of their careers.

Sami Valimaki © Getty Images Valimaki joins TeamTaylorMade after securing his European Tour card at Qualifying School Final Stage to earn his rookie season on tour. Sami was in the top 10 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings in 2018 and, having taken part in military service in at the end of last year, turned professional in January 2019.

Sami recorded his first professional victory at the Open Casa Green Golf on the Pro Golf Tour in and went on to record three more victories, finishing second on the Order of Merit. He made his European Tour debut at the KLM Open in 2019 and finished tied seventh at the 2020 ISPS Handa Vic Open before going on to capture the Open title in just his sixth start on the European Tour. Following his maiden victory, Sami currently sits 13th in the season long Race to Dubai rankings. “Sami has always stood out as an amateur talent and has since continued to show fantastic promise in the professional ranks. Sami is a very skilled player who compresses the ball extremely well, but perhaps his biggest skill is that he knows how to win and even thrives on being in contention, shown by his maiden European Tour victory in Oman. Roussel is also a new addition to the TeamTaylorMade roster for 2020. This season will also be Robin’s rookie season on the European Tour after securing his card through the last year. Roussel had top-10 finishes in his first three Challenge Tour events and in June went on to win on home soil at the Hauts de – Pas de Calais Golf Open, carding back-to-back bogey-free rounds over the weekend to seal a two-stroke victory.

Robin also finished runner-up at the Hainan Open adding up to a 7th place finish on the Challenge Tour’s Road to Mallorca rankings earning him a place on the 2020 European Tour.
