Nous voilà bien éloignés de la série true Blood qui soit dit en passant vire un peu sur le n'importe quoi. Heureusement que les livres eux gardent le ton!Sookie est une fois de plus embringuée dans une histoire roquambolesque, mais ça lui va si bien!!Une jeune were est assassinée dans le jardin d'Eric, c'est un coup monté, mais par qui?Et cet accord que le "père" d'Eric a signé, contractant un mariage vampire... En voilà des choses à gerer pour notre chère serveuse... avec une reine, rien que ça (et mignone en plus de ça!!) Voilà qui va mettre à mal sa relation et son mariage avec Eric... nous allons aussi en apprendre un peu plus sur son coté "fée" et son histoire...Mais elle va s'en sortir comme d'habitude!!Je dois dire que ce tome est l'un de mes préférés de la série qui selon moi s'essouflait un peu dans les "épisodes" précédents.Et dire qu'il va falloir attendre mai 2013 pour avoir une suite!18 internautes sur 18 ont trouvé ce commentaire utile. Politiques de vampires et pièges perfides, le monde merveilleux de SookiePar AngelheartAvec "Dead Reckoning", 11ème volume de la série des Sookie Stackhouse, nous retrouvons un peu plus d'action. Après un précédent volume(dead in the family) plus pondéré, ce tome renoue clairement avec le suspense ainsi que l'action. D'ailleurs, tout commence avec le Merlotte's qui se fait incendier.L'intrigue principale tourne autour de la politique des vampires :Felipe, le roi, a placé Victor en qualité de régent juste au dessus d'Eric (qui est toujours sheriff). Or, Victor ne cesse de provoquer Eric et son second, Pam, afin qu'ils aient une réaction qui lui donnerait une excuse lui permettant de se débarrasser d'eux. "Perfidie" pourrait être son deuxième prénom, c'est sûr !La situation est tellement tendue que pour la première fois Eric et Pam ne sont pas sur la même longueur d'ondes, cette dernière étant même tentée de désobéir ! Sookie ne sait comment réagir face à cette situation inédite. Il est vrai que Pam souffre à un niveau très personnel de la régence de Victor ....Sookie est donc mal à l'aise, d'autant plus qu'elle sent qu'Eric lui cache encore autre chose, quelque chose d'important.Une intrigue secondaire - une déséquilibrée qui veut tuer Sookie par vengeance - "égaie" l'ensemble et rend la vie de Sookie encore plus périlleuse.Enfin, nous apprenons également un peu plus sur l'héritage de faè de Sookie, c'est assez intéressant.Avec "Dead Reckoning" nous retrouvons ce qui fait le charme de la série : accompagner une Sookie un peu dépassée au milieu d'une bande de vampires en colère.15 internautes sur 17 ont trouvé ce commentaire utile. Le quotidien de SookiePar Lady LamaLa série "Sookie Stackhouse" continue sa remarquable constance: le nouveau tome est toujours de bonne qualité! Pas très épais (336 pages), le livre se déguste comme un excellent dessert.Rappel des faits:Sookie, 28ans, télépathe et à 1/8ème fée, serveuse dans un bar tenu par un shapeshifter, est mariée à Eric le shériff des vampires de l'Area Five, en Louisiane. Cependant Sookie et Eric ne vivent pas encore ensemble, et Sookie continue d'habiter la grande demeure héritée de sa grand-mère. Elle la partage maintenant avec son cousin Claude (stripteaser gay et fée) et son grand-oncle, d'allure tout aussi jeune et bogosse (et à moitié fée).Cet épisode est assez calme. Certes, Sookie est menacée par une hystérique (connue depuis plusieurs tomes). Certes, Eric et Pamela en bavent avec le vampire Victor qui s'acharne à leur pourrir la vie. Certes la relation entre Sookie et Eric est menacée (c'est en train de virer à Santa Barbara cette affaire là, j'espère quand même qu'ils vont rester ensemble!).Sookie ne perd pas son mordant, bien au contraire elle continue de s'affirmer comme en témoigne ce petit dialogue:"I'm just not a political animal.""But an animal," Victor said smoothly.[...]"That's me," I said, returning his smile with interest. "Hot- blooded, breathing. I could even lactate. The whole mammal package.""Mais surtout, on prend le pouls des habitants de Bon Temps. Les femmes se rassemblent pour les baby showers (moeur anglo-saxonne où elles se réunissent pour fêter l'arrivée prochaine d'un nouveau-né en faisant des cadeaux à la future mère et en se racontant très en détail leurs grossessses précédentes), les couples vont dîner au bar local (d'un burger car il n'y a pas grand chose d'autre, accompagnée d'une bonne pinte de bière)... Dans un contexte de crise économique, dans un pays où tous n'ont pas d'assurance maladie, chacun essaie de survivre comme il peut en accumulant les heures de travail. L'auteur prend par exemple soin de préciser que certains n'ont même pas de compte bancaire (certains par méfiance du Vieux Sud, d'autres parce qu'ils sont trop endettés).L'épisode est donc plutôt concentré sur le quotidien de Sookie. On passe ainsi l'essentiel des deux premiers chapitres à se préoccuper de la chevelure de Sookie (d'où la couverture). C'est un petit fait insignifiant, mais le quotidien avec Sookie est toujours charmant, d'autant qu'on retrouve tous les personnages habituels, y compris Mr. Cataliedes. On voit ainsi Sookie débarassant son grenier, emmenant son petit cousin à l'école...Côté révélations, on va en apprendre davantage sur le côté "fée" de Sookie qui risque d'être encore plus développé dans les prochains tomes. L'auteur en profite égalemment pour donner ici et là des explications sur des points rarement voire jamais évoqués en fantasy, car assez délicats. Exemple: Est-ce que les shapeshifters, en forme "animale", fricotent avec les animaux? Peuvent-ils engendrer des petits chiens/chats...?Pour les amateurs d'action ne vous inquiétez pas, vous aurez droit à un cocktail Molotov, des cadavres découpés avec des mains en trophée, des vampires décapités. Et une grosse bataille finale à la fin (qui dégoûte Sookie et la fait s'épancher (argh) sur cette larve de Bill). One character that is awesome in both the books and the TV show. The rest were new to me authors and some I will definitely look up. My favorites were the stories by Charlaine Harris and Jeaniene Frost. Good, but the ending falls a little flat. Oh, of topic again, anyways - the story was typical Sookie and thank Goddess no one major died. What follows is although a not very clever, but super entertaining romp involving some mystery, some ass-kicking, and some double-girl stripping.
