The BIG EAST Conference announced in May it was expanding the number of live events broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) to 225 for the 2015-16 season. The 2015 fall schedule features 99 total contests, including a combined 85 regular-season men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball matches, along with 14 BIG EAST Championship events.

When the BIG EAST launched the Digital Network in 2014-15, the league became the fi rst collegiate conference to be hosted on FOX’s mobile platform, FOX Sports Go, the app that provides live streaming video of FOX Sports content at home or on-the-go.

BIG EAST MEN’S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIPS

In July 2015, the BIG EAST Conference announced a new format for the BIG EAST Men’s Soccer Championship this fall. Held Nov. 8-15, the Championship will be played at the highest remaining seed for the entirety of the tournament. The final regular season league match will be on Thursday, Nov. 5. Following the announcement of the bracket, the first round will begin on Sunday, Nov. 8 with the No. 3 seed hosting the No. 6 seed and the No. 4 seed hosting the No. 5 seed. The top two seeds will receive first-round byes. The format change was voted on unanimously by the BIG EAST men’s soccer coaches and approved by Athletic Directors and Senior Women’s Administrators from all 10 member institutions. The winner of the BIG EAST Men’s Soccer Championship receives the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
