With Bugs Bunny program, Picnic With the Pops promises to be animated | Music | Kentucky.com 8/22/13 11:25 AM Kentucky.com Next Story > Walter Tunis: Steve Forbert returns with distinctive folk-pop With Bugs Bunny program, Picnic With the Pops promises to be animated Published: August 15, 2013 Tweety and Sylvester star in the Looney Tunes 3D theatrical short I Tawt I Taw A Puddy Tat, one of the new cartoons that will be shown during Picnic With the Pops' program Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II. COURTESY OF WARNER BROS. ENTERTAINMENT INC. By Rich Copley — [email protected] George Daugherty would hazard a bet that if you walked down the street and hummed the tune to Richard Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries, you would get the same thing back from a majority of adults: "Kill the wabbit! Kill the wabbit!" Kill the rabbit? That is, of course, the chorus Elmer Fudd repeats numerous times in the classic Bugs Bunny cartoon What's Opera, Doc?, which marries Wagner's epic Ring Cycle music to Fudd's epic quest for hasenpfeffer, or other rabbit delicacies. Daugherty's isn't the first — but it might be the most emphatic — admission that many people, particularly Americans, got their first tastes of classical music through Warner Bros. cartoons. Cases in point: Rabbit of Seville (a spoof of Gioachino Rossini's The Barber of Seville), Baton Bunny (which uses Franz von Suppé's A Morning, Noon and Night in Vienna), Rhapsody Rabbit (employing Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Franz Liszt) and Tom and Jerry in the Hollywood Bowl (which includes Johann Strauss II's Die Fledermaus).

  • Identifying Discrete Distributions
Review for Exam 2 Identifying Discrete Distributions Identify the most appropriate distribution, including both name and any parameters, that may be used to model each of the following random variables. The distribution will either be BINOMIAL(n,p), HYPERGEOMETRIC(n,M,N), or NEGATIVE BINOMIAL(r,p). 1. X is the number of heads in six tosses of a fair coin. 2. I will toss a fair coin until I get six heads then I will stop. X is the number of tails required until I get six heads. 3. Joe tossed 80 coins, 35 of which came up heads. If we randomly pick 5 of these coin tosses, X is the number of heads in the group of 5 that we selected. 4. I have 10 episodes of Looney Tunes recorded. Pepe Le Pew appears in three of them. If I randomly watch 2 of the 10 episodes, X is the number of episodes I watch that Pepe appears. 5. Bugs Bunny dodges bullets from Yosemite Sam on a given show with probability 0.25. X is the number of shows out of the next 10 in which Bugs has to dodge bullets. 6. During a given episode, the probability that Tweety will say \I tawt I taw a puddy tat" is 0.7. (Assume he never uses the phrase twice in the same episode.) X is the number of episodes I need to watch without the phrase before I hear it for the 8th time. 7. Bugs Bunny thinks he has 5 carrots, but 2 of them are really dynamite painted to look like carrots.
