Class 1 is #001. Use the drop-down class menu to make it easier. • Be sure to select a Rider# for each class. USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Competitions at the Modified Level or above and Combined Competitions at the Advanced Level, , Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk (exception: Friesian performance FR222) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Breeding classes (03/30/2021) Amateur Certification ● Only active Federation members may obtain amateur certification. Every person who has reached his/her 19th birthday and competes in classes for amateurs under Federation rules must possess current amateur certification issued by the Federation. Only active Federation members may obtain amateur certification, Amateur cards are no longer available for non- members. Any person who has not reached his/her 19th birthday is an amateur and does not require amateur certification. An amateur continues to be such until he/she has received a change in status from the Federation. There is no fee for amateur certification for Senior Active or Life Members. Refer to GR1306 & GR1307. Any Active member who is not a current USEF member and wants to compete in an amateur class must fill out the USEF membership application with their name, signature, date of birth and check the “Amateur” box in order to be eligible to compete. They are not required to pay for a USEF membership or a Show Pass fee. Once the application has been processed, their amateur status will then show up on the USEF website – usef.org and under Search, Membership as “Non-Member Amateur – INACTIVE”. USEF Non-Member Participation ● if proper competing membership documentation is not submitted to the competition and the competition cannot verify such information, the exhibitor will be required to complete a Show Pass form and pay a non-refundable Show Pass fee of $45.00. (GR1308.2b) Purchase of a Show Pass fee does NOT allow a competitor to show in amateur classes. To show in an amateur class, an adult competitor must provide proof of membership with amateur certification. The sale of a horse does not eliminate this registration requirement. Every competitor must be an amateur and the owner, or an amateur member of the owner’s family. Leased horses are not eligible. (Contracts of Sale or Bill of Sale will not be accepted in Owner Classes.) Amateur Owner “Family” Definition ● For ownership by the same family, the term family includes the following: spouse, parent, step-parent, child, step-child, brother, sister, half brother and sister, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, step-brother and sister, grandparents and grandchildren, and in- laws of the same relation as stated above. Combined ownership is permitted in Junior Owner's or Amateur Owner's classes under the following conditions: 1. Two distinct non-family owners may co-own a horse and show that horse in Junior Owner or Amateur Owner classes except that no family member of a professional may enter into this relationship. 'Non-family owners' are defined as two distinct individuals who are not related as family as defined by US Equestrian or Equestrian Canada. 2. A horse that is co-owned by the two distinct non-family owners must be registered with Arabian Horse Registry of America, Half Arabian Horse Registry, Anglo Arabian Horse Registry, Canadian Arabian Horse Registry or Canadian Partbred Arabian Registry, or other registry approved by the Arabian Horse Association as an "and" ownership relationship. An "or" ownership relationship does not enable two distinct non-family owners to show in Junior Owner's or Amateur Owner's classes. 3. The right to show horses in Junior Owner or Amateur Owner classes when there are two distinct non-family owners registered as the owners of said horse, does not extend to the family of these distinct non-family owners. 4. In order to show in Junior Owner or Amateur Owner classes both distinct non-family owners must be members of US Equestrian or Equestrian Canada and hold valid amateur cards or be juniors or a combination of amateur and junior. 5. Both distinct non-family owners must be individuals, no farm or corporation co-owned horses are eligible. 6. No family member of a distinct non-family owner may receive any remuneration in relation to the co-owned horse as defined in SUBCHAPTER 13-B AMATEURS AND PROFESSIONALS (or Equestrian Canada equivalent). 7. Horses co-owned by more than two distinct non-family owners cannot be shown in Junior Owner or Amateur Owner classes. 8. If the co-ownership relationship is terminated, that horse is not eligible to be co-owned by another distinct non-family person for the remainder of that show year as defined by US Equestrian. The remaining owner and his or her family members are eligible to show in Junior Owner or Amateur Owner classes. 9. A horse that is co-owned by the two distinct non-family members cannot be shown in any Maturity or Jackpot classes at any AHA national championship show. 10. An individual AHA affiliate association/club may elect to not allow horses that are co-owned by two distinct non-family members to compete in classes designated for Amateur Owner or Junior Owner for which they offer prize money, Futurity, or other restricted classes with payouts greater than $2,500. 11. An individual member may only enter into two distinct co-owner relationships and compete with these arrangements in Amateur Owner or Junior Owner classes at USEF/EC-approved shows. Arrangements with other individuals, same as otherwise, for purposes other than competing in USEF/EC-approved shows in Amateur Owner and Junior Owner classes, are not impacted. Admission to the Arena and Paddock Area ● No person will be allowed in the ring except participants in the class, licensed officials, assistants, and show photographer. Properly attired attendants will be allowed in the ring only after being called by the judge, ringmaster, or announcer. There shall be no conduct in the paddock area which disturbs or creates a hazard to horses, handlers, or spectators. Attention Competitors ● Each competitor is responsible for supplying management with correct association numbers (USEF, Equine Canada, AHA) for horse, owner, rider/driver/handler, trainer and coach before the day(s) of the competition. The scores of competitors who fail to supply correct numbers may not be counted toward national awards and breed association programs.

Awards of Prize Money ● Every effort will be made to have checks available in the awards room during the posted hours. Checks must be signed for and everyone who receives a payout will need to complete a W-9 in order to receive their check regardless of the amount. Checks will be void after 60 days. Region 4 Futurity classes: Net money received from nominations will be allocated for prize money. Payments credited toward specific class entered. ABS Sweepstakes classes: All prize money will be distributed by AHA. Awards of Trophies and Ribbons ● The awards room is located in the Sports Arena Building. If not picked up when exiting the arena, awards must be picked up and signed for at the awards room. Awards room will be open while classes are in session only. Unclaimed awards will not be mailed. A full Top Five will be awarded regardless of the number of entries in a class. However, only awards made to the top 50% of the class (rounded up and not to exceed 5 awards) will receive Arabian Breeders Sweepstakes payouts, AHA Horse Achievement Awards, Amateur Achievement Awards, High Point Horse Achievement Awards, High Point Amateur Achievement Awards and Distance Award points. All Top Five Awards will qualify for the corresponding national championship. Region 4 Championship Classes: Champion – Award, Champion Ribbon, Garland. Reserve Champion – Plaque, Reserve Champion Ribbon. Balance of Top 5 will receive Top 5 plaque and ribbon. ABS Sweepstakes ribbons will be awarded to enrolled horses in ABS Sweepstakes classes. Regional ABS Yearling Halter Classes – Top Ten ribbons to 10th. Champion – Award, Champion Ribbon, Garland. Reserve Champion – Plaque, Reserve Champion Ribbon. Region 4 Futurity Classes: Champion –Silver Belt Buckle, Award, Champion Ribbon, Garland. Reserve Champion – Plaque, Reserve Champion Ribbon. Balance of Top 5 will receive Top 5 plaque and ribbon. Call for classes ● Due to unforeseeable problems with any mechanical device, the public address system must be considered a courtesy. It is the exhibitors’ responsibility to follow how quickly classes are progressing and to promptly present themselves when the gate person calls for their class. Changes, Cancellation or Division of classes ● Management reserves the right to make changes of arenas, judges or class order to facilitate time schedule and conditions for betterment of the Show. The Show Committee reserves the right to cancel, combine, or divide any classes or make any scheduling changes necessary. All changes will be posted on the Announcement Board at the office. Any performance championship that reaches 30 entries competing will be shown as a semifinal class with horses selected by the judges for final competition. The AAOTR Western, Country and Hunter Pleasure classes have been split by age into 19-49 and 50 & Over. If any of those splits has fewer than 5 entries, the two age groups for that class will be combined and run as one Regional class. Change of Horse in Showmanship/Equitation Classes ● Please have all changes made by 7PM the night prior to the class. If the draw order has been done, exhibitors with horse changes will stay as assigned. Discipline ● Exhibitors are advised that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to staff or officials of this show on part of the owner, exhibitor, agent, lessee, trainer, groom, rider, driver, handler, or family of the person participating in the show, will disqualify the horse from adjudication. Management reserves the right to remove a horse or any person from the show without being liable for compensation or damages. Disputes not covered by the rules ● Should any question or dispute arise not provided for in the governing rules of USEF and AHA, the same shall be referred to the Show Commission whose decision shall be final. Drug and medication rule ● Refer to USEF Chapter 4, GR 408-411. The official Medication Report Form is now on line at: https://competitions.usef.org/drugs-and-meds/medication-report-form/usef. Equitation Music ● Exhibitors in Equitation will be allowed to submit their own music selection for their regional championship class. Music requests (compact discs or digital media accepted) must be submitted form to the show office before 7pm the night prior to the day their class is held. Gate Hold ● In classes where horses compete collectively, a warning will be made and the in-gate must be closed two minutes after the first horse enters the ring. When it is found that a gate hold must be requested by an exhibitor, such request shall be made to the Paddock Master prior to the close of judging of the class immediately before the class requiring the gate hold. The reason for the request must be stated. The gate-hold will be a maximum of three (3) minutes. Appropriate notice will be given to all exhibitors if there is a gate hold in effect. Judges ● The Show Commission reserves the right to substitute a judge for one who is officially designated. Leveling Program (Select, Choice, Elite & Primetime Classes) ● A rider may now choose to ride any and all levels at or above their given level but cannot ride below their designated level. For Example, if you are a Select Hunter Pleasure Rider, you will be able to ride in Hunter Pleasure Select AATR, Hunter Pleasure Choice AATR and, if you own the horse, Hunter Pleasure AAOTR. You can find your appropriate “level” by clicking on “Horse/Rider Points and Competition Records” from the AHA website member home page. Look for the access link labeled “Leveling Points”. The view is broken into various sections, i.e., Hunter, Western, and Saddle Seat. You can use the summary at the bottom of the page along with the “leveling chart” to determine your level for the appropriate class. It is the rider’s responsibility to enter the correct level. Order of go ● All Breeding/Gelding In-Hand classes will be oldest to youngest, including post entries. All working western, equitation pattern classes and showmanship classes will have a posted order of go a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours at Regional Championships. All “orders of go” will be posted on the Announcement Board at the Show Office and given to the Paddock Master not less than one hour prior to the start of that class. Accommodations may be made in the case of class conflicts. Scoring Systems ● All Regional Cutting, Reining, Reined Cow, Working Cow & Ranch Horse Riding classes will be judged by a single judge. Regional Trail classes will be judged by a single judge, using the AHA Trail scoring system. The “Comparative system (MOS)” will be used for all Breeding/Gelding In-Hand classes. The AHA approved Majority Opinion System (MOS) will be used in 2021for all other classes. Region 4 Performance Futurities Entries will show and be judged under Futurity rules and applicable class specifications for junior horses as set forth in the Arabian division of the USEF rule book and will utilize MOS scoring. See complete rules on the website. Stallions ● May be shown in any class except classes for Walk/Trot 10 & Under and Lead Line. Sweepstakes Classes (ABS) ● (excluding AHA Breeders Sweepstakes Yearling classes) are open to all horses, however, only horses enrolled in the (ABS) Arabian Breeders Sweepstakes program will earn payouts.
