DEPUTY GRAND MARSHAL Mickey McCreesh Mickey McCreesh was born in 1974 and raised in , Co. . He is the youngest son of Noel and Maureen McCreesh and brother to Rory, Shona and Grainne. He married his wife Ann-Marie in 2010 at Trim Castle Hotel in Ireland. He has two beautiful children, his daughter Saoirse is 22 months old and his son Michael is 4 months old. His two grandfathers, Michael McCreesh and Patrick Sammon, were members of the local council, which is now called & Mourne Council. Mickey’s grandfather, Michael McCreesh was an Armagh County Councilor from the 1940’s to the 1960’s.

He attended St. Paul’s High School where he completed his GCSE’s and A levels, graduating in 1992. Mickey then managed The Welcome Inn in from 1992 to 1995. He then worked for Nicholas O’Dwyer’s Engineering Company in Newry as a land surveyor for three years.

He came to New York in 1997 and began working with his brother Rory’s company Duce Construction Corporation as the Human Resource Manager, where he still continues to work today. Duce Construction specializes in high-end residential renovations and several projects have been highlighted in top architectural and home magazines such as Classic Home, Interior Design and Architectural Digest.

He opened a Bar in Sunnyside, Queens in April 2008. The bar is located on 43rd street and 43rd Ave and aptly named BAR 43. His bar is a very popular sports bar with fantastic food and drink including 32 beer taps and the Atomic Wings franchise, something for everyone's taste buds. Bar 43 has 12 plasma screen TV’s and big screen TV for every sport to be enjoyed, they also a private party room available.

He is an active member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and he was voted in as the Division 4 correspondence officer last year.

He presently lives with his family in Sunnyside. His is a big man with an even bigger heart. His son was born just 4 days before hurricane Sandy hit despite having his new son and 18 month old daughter at home to enjoy, himself a few other kind hearted people, organized food and clothing to be dropped off at bar 43 so they could get much needed supplies to the Rockaway’s, Breezy point and other hard hit areas affected by Sandy. He continued to round up volunteers to accompany him every Saturday to help victims of Sandy get their houses cleaned out and start to get their lives back in some kind of order.

Over the years, Mickey has been a great New York City tour guide for many visitors from Ireland. He has helped 100's of new Irish Emigrants to get set up with jobs and accommodation. He has always been more than willing in helping out any of the people in the Irish community.
