The following public notification arrangements have been put in place: o The period between 20 December 2020 and 10 January 2021 inclusive are no longer counted as working days for the purpose of public notification of DAs. o DAs that are open for public notification between Sunday 20 December 2020 and Sunday 10 January 2021 will have 12 additional working days added to the public notification period. o DAs will NOT be notified between Monday 21 December 2020 and Friday 8 January 2021 inclusive. o Public notification of DAs will recommence on Monday 11 January 2021. Normal notification periods will apply.

• Draft Variation to Territory Plan DV379. Kenny Environmental Offset Site. DV379 seeks to rezone Gungahlin rural Block 820 and part of Old Well Station Road from a range of existing urban zonings to Non Urban NUZ3 Hills, Ridges and Buffer zone. It also intends to replace the Future Urban Area Overlay with the Nature Reserve Public Land Overlay on the Territory Plan Map. Comments due COB Monday 1 February 2021. • Australian Building Codes Board – Independent Third-Party Review & Mandatory Inspections. Two discussion papers are now open for public consultation relating to a draft model process for independent third-party review and mandatory inspections. Recommendations 17 & 18 of the Building Confidence Report proposes independent third-party review for specified components of designs or certain types of buildings in every jurisdiction and that each jurisdiction has mandatory on-site inspections of building at identified notification stages. • Building Design Acceptance – A response to the Building Confidence Report Discussion Paper. A discussion paper addressing the process associated with building design documentation is out for public consultation. Recommendations 13 – 16 of the Building Confidence Report covers the process of design documentation, including the development and documentation of performance solutions and variations to the approved documentation. The recommendations seek to improve the standard and compliance of designs both as part of the building approval application process and in relation to design variations made during the construction phase and in some cases for constructed building work.
