The Public Information Officer Thiru Arun, Divisional Accountant and Thiru B.Logaperumal, Executive Engineer and Administrative Officer, Tamil Nadu Housing Board, Tirunelveli Division, Tirunelveli are present. 2. This Commission by its order dated 17.12.2013 has recorded the submissions of the Executive Engineer that he will take immediate steps to get the Writ Appeals numbered and Interim Orders obtained as early as practicable. During the course of today's enquiry, the Executive Engineer produces before this Commission a copy of the letter sent by the Counsel for Housing Board addressed to the Executive Engineer and Administrative Officer, Tamil Nadu Housing Board, Tirunelveli Region saying that in the applications to condone the delay in filing the Writ Appeals, notice to the respondents has been ordered by the Hon'ble High Court, Madurai Bench and the respondents appeared through their counsels before the Court. 3. It has further been said that the Counsel on Record to the Tamil Nadu Housing Board has submitted a letter dated 10.01.2014 requesting the High Court to expedite the hearing of the said applications for condonation of the delay. The Counsel for the appellant before the High Court expects the cases to be listed in the course of this month. The Executive Engineer and the Public Information Officer, Tamil Nadu Housing Board, Tirunelveli Housing Board Section shall monitor the progress of the case and inform this Commission as to the orders to be passed by the High Court, Madurai Bench in the said cases. 4. The attention of the appellant is drawn to Rule-7 of the Tamil Nadu Information Commission (Appeal Procedure) Rules, 2012 which makes the personal attendance of the appellant mandatory and as such in the absence of the appellant, the appeal deserves to be only dismissed. However, in as much as, the PIO has turned up with the relevant records, the matter has been inquired into and the factum of furnishing of the required information to the appellant is recorded. Nothing remains to be considered in this appeal and accordingly this appeal is closed.
