Superintendent’s Update I just want to thank all of you who participated in the Cabrillo, whether it was directly or indirectly. This year was the best run event. Our staff gets exited preparing the course for the tournament. We do split shifts and long hours, but after a couple days it all settles in and we can’t wait to see the players roll their putts. The heat of the Summer is definitely here. The staff has rolled out the hoses to water the hot spots. It’s an effective way to maintain a consistent level of moisture especially on the fairways where most have subtle slopes. Please also help us alleviate compaction on these areas by following the directional signs Ramiro Sena near the approaches and maintain the away from the canopy of the trees. Those big oaks are Course Superintendent not as hardy as they look. The roots require lots of oxygen and we deplete it by excessively driving on them. We want to thank you for your support on our operation. We will be focused on keeping the turf with minimum damage from the heat during the next few months. ~ Your Superintendent and Turf Care Team
