HARTLEY WINTNEY FC HISTORY Hartley Wintney Football Club History Hartley Wintney Football Club was founded in the North Hampshire village of Hartley Wintney in 1897 and played in an area adjacent to the village's golf and cricket clubs, the facilities not quite being up to today's standard, with only a horse trough or the pond to remove the heavy mud from a sub-standard pitch. The Club's nickname of 'The Row' comes from 'Hartley Row', a former hamlet within Hartley Wintney. In 1953, the club moved to its present ground in Green Lane, known as 'The Memorial Ground'. A pavilion was erected and the team played in the Basingstoke League and, later, in the Aldershot League. In 1973, an influx of players under new manager Glynn Howell put the club firmly on the local football map. In his six year reign, the team won the Aldershot Senior League three times in succession, and the Aldershot Senior Cup. After several seasons in the Aldershot Senior League, Hartley were admitted to the Combined Counties League (previously Surrey Senior League). After the first couple of seasons and two changes of management, the club appointed Ian Bedford, and once again an influx of senior players brought Hartley success. Within his three years in man- agement, they gained trophies including the League Title (1982-1983) and Runners Up (1981-1982), Aldershot Senior Cup Winners (1980-1981), and George Allen Cup Win- ners (1981-1982). They were also Runners Up in the League Cup (1982-1983) and Al- dershot Senior Cup (1981-1982).

EAGLES FLY HOME Crystal Palace Football Club Press Conference 20th January 2011 Press Release Crystal Palace FC plan return to historic home We are delighted to announce that Crystal Palace Football Club together with their advisors CB Richard Ellis and stadium designers AFL have been pursuing avenues and that would allow them to move back Eagles Fly Home to their original home ground within Crystal Palace park. Crystal Palace is a unique place, one off the highest points in London, a point where five South London boroughs collide and the home of the club. It also holds a special place in English football, hosting the first cup finals and early England Internationals. The plan is to provide: • 40,000 seat stadium • new indoor aquatic centre • reconfigured indoor sports complex within the existing structure • new community athletics facility Combined this will breathe new life into the National Sports Centre and the park by removing the requirement for the pool inside the current listed structure, greatly reduce the running costs and allow for the current space to be re-utilised for an even wider range of community and elite athletic sports. Planning will be sought for the full 40,000 seat capacity stadium, it may begin life with a reduced 25,000 capacity stadium, dependant on where we are, other uses etc. Steve Parish, Co–Chairman of Crystal Palace Football Club, said: “We are delighted to put forward our plans to return the club home to where it all began. We believe a stadium at Crystal Palace park can help create a bright new future for the club as well as helping to breathe new life into both the sports centre and the park.” What have we done so far Consultation began in July 2010 Click to edit Master title style London Borough of Croydon The club currently sits within the borough of Croydon, as such their support is pivotal to help develop Eagles Fly Home the existing site which will go a long way to financing the new stadium.

  • Football Fever 4 the Achievers Report the New Football Pools Football Fever 4 – the Achievers Report
Football Fever 4 The Achievers Report The New Football Pools Football Fever 4 – The Achievers Report It’s a debate that can be heard every week in every ground, pub and living room around the country: whether your favourite team, or your biggest rivals, have under-achieved or over-achieved. Who are the game’s biggest under-achievers and over-achievers? And how do you decide what constitutes ‘achievement’ anyway? Here at The New Football Pools we’ve endeavoured to bring you – for the first time – the answers to those questions. We’ve taken the start of the Premier League in August 1992 as our benchmark, and our statisticians have poured over thousands of results, league tables, club records and financial data. Our statisticians looked at: • where each of the current 92 League clubs were in 1992 • how they’ve performed in league and cup competitions since then • the size of each club, based on average attendances, club investment etc • the impact of transfers (in and out of clubs) • the impact of changes in club ownership, financial difficulties etc Combining these factors, we’ve then rated all 92 clubs, season by season, based on what each club could have been expected to achieve and comparing that with its actual achievements that season. By doing this we’ve created a level playing field for all clubs, so that the achievements of smaller clubs can be assessed on equal terms against football’s big boys. We started each club on the same mark for August 1992, but over the course of the Premier League era we can see some dramatic changes in clubs’ achievement ratings as events both on the field and in the boardroom have an effect.
