A new series of lectures, The Mary Coleman Lecture, was introduced at the Gillberg Neuropsychiatry Centre in 2015. The Mary Coleman Lecture is given every two years and focuses specifically on autism and related disorders. Only outstanding clinical and basic science researchers who have contributed important new knowledge to the field of autism will be invited to give this lecture. – Mary Coleman, who gave the the first Mary Coleman Lecture, has proposed that the second lecture in the series be given by Christopher Gillberg. PROFESSOR CHRISTOPHER GILLBERG Visiting or Honorary Professor at the Universities of , University College London (Institute of Child Health), University of Glasgow, University of Edinburgh, the , and Kochi University, Japan. Professor Christopher Gillberg has published over 650 peer-reviewed scientific papers and 33 books, several of which are standard textbooks in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Autism. Christopher Gillberg is the world’s most renowned researcher in the autism field. He has received a number of prestigious national and international awards including Royal Medal of the Seraphim Order from the Swedish King, The Söderberg Prize in Medicine (also known as the little Nobel prize), and 2016 INSAR Lifetime Achievement Award.
