The application documents should be posted latest on the day of the application deadline. International coordinators should nominate their students via email at least two weeks before the respective deadline.

Course catalogue The Course Catalogue is available on the website in Danish. Courses in English vary from semester to semester and are not available to view.

Credits and grading 60 ECTS credits amount to one year of full-time study and 30 ECTS credits system constitute one term of full-time study.

Language of The principal language of instruction at the University is Greenlandic and Danish, but some Instruction subjects are offered in English.

Expected date of All guest students are required to arrive at least one week before the start of the semester arrival to get orientated. There will be a short orientation program.

Language We do not request a TOEFL score (or similar) but rather rely on our partner institutions proficiency to evaluate the student’s English proficiency and to only nominate students with excellent knowledge of English. This is to make sure students do not have problems during their exchange period as they cannot expect any special assistance due to language problems.

Student residency The same rules and legislations for visa applications to Denmark on the grounds of study apply to Greenland also. Check www.nyidanmark.dk for the latest information.

A Nordic citizen from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden, has the right to reside, study and work in Greenland and does not require any permit.

An EEA/EFTA citizen may stay and study in Greenland without changing their place of residence for up to three months from the date of arrival in the country. If the student resides longer in Greenland, s/he should apply for a student visa through the Danish immigration authorities. Since Greenland is not a member of the European Union (EU), the EU regulations on free movement do not apply to Greenland.

Citizens of countries outside the EEA/EFTA must obtain a student residency permit before entering Greenland. The student must document that they have at their disposal an amount equivalent to DKK 50 000. Applications for student permits should be submitted as soon as the exchange is approved.

Health Issues European (EEA/EFTA) students must bring the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and/or the insurance form E-104. This is proof that they are entitled to health insurance at home.

Students from non-EEA/EFTA/Nordic countries should have health insurance from an insurance company in their country that is licensed to operate in Greenland, or buy insurance from an Icelandic insurance company, for the first six months of their stay.

Fees and Cost of living There are no University tuition fees. However all travel, living, insurance and related study expenses will be the responsibility of the student. The estimated cost of living in Greenland for a single person is DKK 5000 per month excluding accommodation which can vary greatly.

Transcript of Exchange students get two copies of their transcript of academic records free of records charge at the end of their stay. They are sent directly to the home university (or ISEP when applicable).
