Secondary Admissions – Year 6

14/09/20 Dear Parents and Carers of Year Six Pupils,

As I am sure you are aware, it is your child’s final year at Bannerman Road Community Academy. Applications for secondary schools opened on 12th September and have to be submitted by 31st October 2020. You can find all the information about how to apply here: https://www.bristol.gov.uk/schools-learning-early-years/secondary-admissions

It is important that you start to look at schools and begin to make choices about where your child wants to continue their education next year.

I have included some information on open events for the local schools (see reverse). Many are still in the process of deciding how to run virtual events so keep an eye on their websites for details. I would recommend that you discuss with your child where they would like to go and attend any open days / virtual events the schools are holding.

In order to support you with the application process, I will complete a video which explains the most important information. This will be sent out via text within the next two weeks.

Yours sincerely,

Katie Crew Assistant Principal
