2 million euros investments, finalized in county

Bucharest, July 13th - As part of the investment strategy for 2016, in the period January – June, Enel Distribuţie completed the network modernization works in Giurgiu area, worth over 2 million lei.

Both the low and the medium voltage networks have been targeted. Currently over 1,000 clients in three localities, Copaciu, Uzunu and Anghelești benefit from increased comfort and safer power supply.

The cost of the completed works reached over 2 million lei, and is part of a wider program aimed to modernize the network in Giurgiu county. As part of the modernization process over 19,000 meters of cable have been replaced so far, and over 400 measurement and protection units have been installed.

In Copaciu the low and medium voltage network as well as grid connections have been fully upgraded and measuring devices have been installed on the outside. In Uzunu works have been completed at the secondary stations for the medium voltage network, along with the modernization of the low voltage network. Plans for Uzunu and Angheleşti include relocation of measurement devices on the outside and installation of smart meters.

The smart metering system will allow to perform electricity consumption readings remotely, as well as to conduct commercial operations like tariff changes, connections and disconnections, thus increasing comfort and reducing inconvenience of visits to the location.

Complete upgrading works are being carried out in four localities in Giurgiu county (Marsa, Mironeşti, Băneasa, Remus) and Nicolae Titulescu Boulevard in Giurgiu city.

The works are part of an investment programme carried out by Enel in , aimed at securing a proper service for end users, improving the quality and security of the network while also complying with Enel’s environmental standards.
