ByJILLTYRER Islander staff writer When new directors were elected at Sunday's an- nual meeting of the Island Theater Wing membership, it looked as though the dispute vn.:> headed for court. But Robert Cacioppo, the man at the center of the controversy, has withdrawn from the fight and urged his supporters to follow suit. In a letter dated Feb. 3, Cacioppo says "I have de- cided to ask my supporters and the Act Now group to stop any legal action they plan to take" not because he feels they would lose in court, he sayss but because the feud has taken too great a toll.
