From: Crump, Mike Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2012 11:39 AM To: Sylvia Milligan; Daryl Bender; 'Colwell, Matt'; Severin, Vance; Doug Teeter Cc: Yamaguchi, Kim Subject: Lassen NF ML3 Roads Hello; All of you have expressed interest in the issue of the Lassen National Forests Motorized Travel Management Plan and specifically the restrictions on the use of OHV on the LNF Maintenance Level 3 roads. (ML3). The 5 Counties the encompass the LNF ( Lassen, Plumas, Tehama, Butte and Shasta) are beginning a process with the LNF where the Counties will identify designated ML3 roads that should be considered for mixed use or possible re-designated as ML2 to allow OHV use. The Lassen NF is very limited within Butte County. We believe we really only have 2 ML3 roads along with portions of 2 additional ML3 roads in Butte County to consider. The 2 in Butte County are; x 25N05 (North Philbrook Rd) between Philbrook Road and the “T” at the High Lakes x 26N27 (Jonesville or Scotts John Rd) between Humboldt and Humbug Summit Rds. The 2 roads where portions are in Butte County are; • 27N06 (Colby Mt. Rd) between Humboldt Rd and Hwy 32) Most of this road is in Tehama Co. • 26N02 (Cirby Meadows road) from Humbug Summit Road south to Plumas County Are you aware of any other LNF ML3 roads in Butte County we need to consider? If you do please let me know. The other Counties are also beginning a process to solicit input from OHV users. If you have interest in certain ML3 roads within other Counties, please either contact them or you can also let me know and I will pass it along.
