Theo Evans two year head coach of the Vancouver Volcanoes, was highly successful for a professional team in Romania as their head coach during the 20082009 season and, upon completion of the 2009 Volcanoes IBL season, was invited back to coach in Romania for the 2009/2010 season bringing multiple IBL players with him—one of those players was Josh Jackson. This year (2010) Theo Evans and Josh Jackson both made their league’s All Star game representing the South. Theo Evans and Josh Jackson’s team won by 2 points as the South All Stars scored 105 to the North All Stars 103 points. Evans team (Rovinari) was 1314 and was fighting for one of the final playoff spots. Evans team was doing pretty well considering a large decrease in budget from the previous season. Rovinari was in 9th place heading into that AllStar game one game out of the last playoff spot. Josh Jackson has the following statistics in Romania: Josh played 37.0 Minutes per game, he shot 56.3% from 2pt range and he shot 40.4% from 3pt range. Josh shot 83.8% from the free throw line. The league’s season goes from late April through the first week in July. In 2007, 102 players who played in the IBL went on to land jobs playing professionally overseas; this 2007 season established the IBL as the league to play in to get or maintain an overseas job.
