The life style of the 21st century people is very different; their attitude and culture have changed .This change of viewpoint is visible in every field of life including Film and television. Nowadays there are several realty shows capturing the attention of the people. The electronic media influence the mind of people. Different television programs target different categories of people .For example the cartoon programs target kids; the realty shows target youth. The points of view of the directors and audience are changing in the modern era. In earlier time, women had only a decorative role in the films. Their representation was merely for satisfying the needs of men. The roles of women were always under the norms and rules of the patriarchal society. They were most often presented on the screen as sexual objects .Here women were abused twice, first by the male character in the film and second, by the spectators. But now the scenario is different. The viewpoint of the directors as well as the audience has drastically changed .In this era the directors are courageous enough to make films with women as central characters.

  • Feminism and Literature: a Study of Anita Nair's 'Mistress'
International Journal of Academic Research and Development International Journal of Academic Research and Development ISSN: 2455-4197 Impact Factor: RJIF 5.22 www.academicsjournal.com Volume 3; Issue 1; January 2018; Page No. 1282-1285 Feminism and literature: A study of Anita Nair’s ‘Mistress’ Dr. Madhu Jindal Associate Professor of English, M.P. College of Women, Mandi Dabwali, Haryana, India Abstract Feminism is a belief that women should be allowed the same rights, power and chances as men and be treated in the same way or the set of activities intended to achieve this state. This is the definition one can notice in the oxford dictionary. The expression is as old as the English Language. Anita Nair has turned out to be a great success. “Mistress” is the story of women’s search for freedom and women’s conditions in a male dominated society. The novel raises the questions whether the role of an Indian woman as a representative of other women, living under oppressive patriarchal systems in relation to cultural resistance, should be restricted only to their roles as wives and mothers. In such a world, woman’s role is limited to reproduction regardless of her own desires and needs. Hence, this paper tries to point out how Anita Nair projects Indian feminism and attitude through women characters in her novels through her novels. Anita Nair has signaled the arrival of a sensitive writer who could perceive deeper mysteries in people’s personalities and take the reader on a wonderful journey of discovery. These novels have a talent for probing the insular world.

  • I. Sea Turtle Conservation in 2020 VSPCA Has Entered Its 24Th Year Of
1 Ó VSPCA I. Sea Turtle Conservation in 2020 VSPCA has entered its 24th year of protection and conservation of the Olive ridley sea turtle via its Community-Based Protection Program, which covers Visakha Coastal Urban Beach - a length/distance of 60 kms along Andhra Pradesh’s shoreline. This proJect erects 5 hatcheries along these beaches safeguarding sea turtle habitat: Muthayalapalem Beach to R. K. Beach; from Jodugullupalem to Uppada and then covering the Peddanagayapalem Beaches. What started in 1996 as an observation is now a program attracting conservationists and NGOs world-wide to it. The sea turtle conservation team has become known for their empathy, originality, compassion and commitment to the program. VSPCA’s Founder, Pradeep Kumar Nath scoured magazines like the National Geographic and scientific papers to comprehend this endangered species of turtle. He observed the very difficult conditions under which mother sea turtles make their way onto Visakhapatnam’s beaches to nest. They face peril and death from many types of predators and obstacles (human, non-human and nonliving): from the fisherfolk poaching turtles, to the eagles & crabs hovering for fresh kill, and beach dogs digging up the newly-laid eggs; from the fishing boat nets to industrialized trawlers destroying sea turtles as by-catch; from oil leaks, sand-mining, pollution, soot, dangerous articles and chemicals on beaches. Yet Olive ridleys are instinctually guided to these beaches! Thus began, what is now a 24-year journey from quest to learn about this species and its role in our coastline, to -> profoundly serious protectionary work to save and conserve the Endangered Olive ridley! Annually, these resilient beings make these beaches their significant-sporadic nesting grounds: with particular reference to the eastern Naval Coastal Battery, all the way to the VUDA beach.
