Summary of Decision Traffic speed on Broadbridge Heath Road, Warnham has been a cause of local concern for many years and a speed limit reduction forms part of the approved plan to mitigate the impact of the 2000 homes being built as part of the Horsham Strategic Development Location and, deter traffic from using short cut routes through Broadbridge Heath and Warnham. The North Horsham County Local Committee (CLC) approved that a 40mph speed limit Order should be investigated in Broadbridge Heath Road, Warnham as part of the package of works being funded from the West Horsham Strategic Development fund. This length of road is currently the subject of a 60mph national speed limit. Traffic speed data was collected to enable this location to be reviewed against the County Council’s speed limit policy for a 40mph limit. The results of the investigation have identified that this road does not meet the current County Council’s Speed Limit Policy for a 40mph speed limit. At its meeting on the 7 March 2016 the North Horsham County Local Committee agreed to ask the Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport to consider an exception to the West County Council Speed Limit Policy and authorise the Director of Law Assurance & Strategy to progress a 40mph speed limit on Broadbridge Heath Road, Warnham in accordance with Option B of the attached report.

The call-in deadline for this decision will be 5pm on 15 March 2016.
