It marked Tech’s first appearance on the new network that made its national debut in August. • Today’s game against Kansas is the first day game of the year and marked the third consecutive year that Tech and Kansas have kicked off at 11 a.m. • Today’s game marked the 15th all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Kansas. With the win, Texas Tech leads the series 14-1. • Today’s game marked the 979th all-time game in Texas Tech history. • Texas Tech won the coin toss and elected to receive. Texas Tech is now 3-2 this season on the opening coin toss. • Texas Tech wore white jerseys, white pants, black helmets and white cleats in today’s game. KINGSBURY GOES INTO TECH HISTORY BOOKS With today’s win over Kansas, becomes just the second coach in school history to win his first five games during his debut season as head coach. Dell Morgan is the only other coach in school history to accomplish this feat as he did so in back in 1941.

BUSTIN TIES CAREER-HIGH/SCHOOL RECORD WITH FOUR FIELD GOALS FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT GAME Junior kicker Ryan Bustin connected on four field goals (23, 25, 28, 31) to match a career-high and a school record that he matched for the second straight week... Bustin is now 13-for-15 this season and 30-for-39 in his two seasons at Tech... he ranks eighth in school history with 30 career field goals... he has the most career field goals by a Red Raider since Alex Trilica had 48 (school record) from 2004-07.

AMARO BECOMES FIFTH RED RAIDER (SINCE 2000) WITH AT LEAST EIGHT RECEPTIONS IN FOUR CONSECUTIVE GAMES For the fourth consecutive game, Texas Tech junior TE Jace Amaro caught at least eight passes while becoming just the fifth Red Raider to accomplish the feat since 2000. Amaro made eight catches for 142 yards against Stephen F. Austin, caught nine passes for 97 yards against TCU and made nine receptions for 86 yards in week four against Texas State... Amaro finished today’s game with nine catches for 96 yards.

NOTING THE RED RAIDERS • Senior Will Smith picked up his third career sack on a 3rd and 17 situation on Kansas’ first drive of the game and forced the Jayhawks to settle for a field goal. • Bradley Marquez now has at least one catch in 22 of 23 career games. • Junior Ryan Bustin scored the first points of the game for Texas Tech when he connected on a 23-yard field goal with 11:20 to go in the first half and cut the Kansas lead to 10-3. It was his 27th field goal of the season. • Junior running back Kenny Williams tied the game (10-10) at the 7:46 mark of second quarter on a 1-yard touchdown run. It was his third rushing touchdown of the season. • Baker Mayfield’s 19-yard touchdown run (with 5 minutes to go in first half) gave Tech its first lead of the game (17-10) and is the longest TD run by a Tech QB since Seth Doege’s 19-yard scoring run against Baylor last season. • Bustin’s second field goal came at the end of the first half to give Tech a 20-10 lead. It was Bustin’s 11th field goal of the season and the 28th of his career... Bustin is now tied for ninth place all-time in school history for career field goals with 28 (Brian Hall, 1974-77)... Bustin has made multiple field goals in 4-of-5 games this season and in 10 games during his two-year career. • J.J. Gaines got his second interception of the season on Kansas’ first drive of the second half and logged a return of 36 yards. On the next play, DeAndre Washington took into the end zone to give the Red Raiders a 27-10 lead. The 4-yard touchdown run was his second of the season. • Bustin’s third field goal of the game gave Tech a 30-10 lead with 11:46 to go in the third quarter. It was the 29th of his career. • Washington scored his second touchdown of the game midway through the third quarter to give the Red Raiders a 37-10 lead. It marked the first multiple touchdown game of his Texas Tech career. • Senior WR Eric Ward caught his second touchdown of the season (25th career) with a 25-yard reception from freshman quarterback Davis Webb to give Tech a 44-10 lead with 14:49 left in the game. • Bustin kicked a 31-yard field goal for his fourth made field goal of the day, which tied a school record that he also matched in the previous week against Texas State. • Webb threw his second touchdown of the game to freshman WR Dylan Cantrell for four yards - marking Cantrell’s first career touchdown with 10:30 left in the game to give Tech a 54-10 lead. TEAM NOTES • With the Kansas field goal at the 12:13 mark of the first quarter, Texas Tech found itself trailing for the first time this season. Tech had gone the first 16 quar- ters of the 2013 season without trailing a single time. • Texas Tech failed to score on its opening possession for the first time this season. • Texas Tech has now scored in 199 consecutive games dating back to Oct. 25, 1997. During this streak, Tech has scored in double digits 187 times. • The Red Raiders rushed for over 100 yards in the first half (23 rushes, 101 yards) for the first time since 2012 (vs. New Mexico - 18 rushes, 153 yards). • Texas Tech’s 20 second-quarter points are its most since scoring 21 against No. 4 West Virginia in Lubbock last season. • Texas Tech has now scored 20-plus points in 20 consecutive games dating back to the 2011 season. • The Texas Tech defense forced four turnovers (3 fumble recoveries, 1 interception) in the game marking the fourth straight game with multiple turnovers. The last time Tech forced multiple turnovers in four consecutive games was in 2006 (5 straight games). • The Tech defense has at least one interception in four consecutive games in the same season for the first time since 2008 (opening four games of the year). • The Red Raiders scored 54 unanswered points for the first time since 2007 when they scored 61 unanswered points against Northwestern State in Lubbock. Tech trailed the game today 10-0 before scoring 54 points before allowing a touchdown to Kansas with 7:43 left to play. • Texas Tech’s 54 points scored marked its most in a Big 12 road opening game since scoring 58 points at K-State in 2008 (W, 58-28).
