Press 'Fermented in stainless steel, then aged for four months in French oak barrels. Light white pear, bitter melon, subtle grapey notes and juicy lime. Very crisp acidity on the palate with more green fruit character, good persistence and a pleasing, open and fresh aspect. 92.' Miquel Hudin, Decanter
'Lovely and varietally precise! Pure, singing freshness, floral notes, lemon curd, bitter lemons and fresh herbs. Honeyed, with a long finish. 93 Silver' - Decanter World Wine Awards
'Great wine, great winery, great story. This estate in North East Spain in its own Mediterranean microclimate, at 700m, is re-introducing traditional varieties. This white was launched last year in Spain and it's a stunner: layers of flavour, brilliant freshness, depth, texture. Quite delicious.' - The Buyer
'An unusual white Garancha, this wine is from the Secastilla Valley in the Somontano region of Spain where the garnacha blanca grape actually originates. Aromatic and well-balanced with apple and peach flavours and citrus and floral notes, its ageing in French oak supplies it with soft and pleasing tannins. ' - John Clarke, The Independent

Other Info: Somontano is a Spanish Denominación de Origen (DO) for wines, created in 1984, and located in the county of the same name, in the province of Huesca, (Aragon). It borders the regions of Sobrarbe and Ribagorza in the North, Hoya de Huesca in the West, the Monegros in the South, and the region of Litera in the East. Wine production is centred around the town of Barbastro. The name Somontano, as its Latin roots suggest, means beneath the mountain this perfectly defines this geographic area, which spreads out from the foothills of the Pyrenees down to the Ebro valley. The DO includes 43 municipalities, most of them in the Somontano area, and a few bordering on Ribagorza and the Monegros. There are over 4000 hectares of vines and about 500 individual grape- growers. This wine is produced organically.
