Welcome to this spring 2019 issue of FlightLOG, the in-flight magazine for Loganair, Editor’sLOG Scotland’s airline. I hope you’ll find something within these pages to inspire and entertain you during your flight. While we are continually striving to improve the lifeline services we deliver across the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, we are constantly adding to our portfolio of destinations. ‘Where next’ is the question on all our lips – and the answer is here in these pages! We are thrilled to be offering flights between Glasgow and the vibrant, arty city of Dusseldorf – did you know it boasts the longest bar in Germany? And adventure lovers will be flocking to Stavanger to explore Norway’s amazing outdoor activities scene… it’s a tremendous country for family holidays too. Can you believe that there have never been direct flights between Scotland’s capital and the Queen of the Hebrides before? Finally, that wrong has been righted! As well as bringing fans of golf, whisky and wildlife to the island, the new flights will offer islanders a direct link to the global destinations that can be reached from Edinburgh airport. I caught up with Scottish designer Siobhan Mackenzie for coffee. She’s only 25 years old, yet her business, based in her parents’ home on the Black Isle, has gone global. A quick glance at her designs will have you swooning and wondering how she has managed to achieve so much in such a short time. Sit back, relax and enjoy your flight…and FlightLOG!
