WCO-Indonesia Situation Report (SR-1) 21 February 2013 Emergency and Humanitarian Action (EHA) Unit WHO Country Office - Indonesia Landslide Emergencies Compilation Report per 20 February 2013 SITREP # 1: 21 February 2013 at 10.00 local time (UCT+7) HIGH LIGHTS The Center for Health Crisis of Ministry of Health (CHC/MOH) reported 3 landslide events that happened on 12, 15, and 19 February 2013, as following: 1. On Tuesday, 12 February 2013 at 06.00 Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7), a landslide happened in Rempasai Village, Prahu Dipo, South Dempo Sub-district, Pagar Alam City, South Sumatera Province; 2. On Friday, 15 February 2013 at 06.15 Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7), a landslide happened in Pasir Angin kampong, RT 01/RW 01, Sukalaksana Village, Talegong Sub-district, Garut District, West Java Province; 3. On Tuesday, 19 February 2013 at 20.00 to 22.00 Central Indonesia Time (UTC+8), a landslide happened in Gitgit Village, Sukasada Sub-district, Buleleng District, Bali Province. On 20 February 2013 at 16.00 Western Indonesian Time (UTC+7), The CHC/MoH reported 5 deaths, 1 person was missing and 179 people were displaced. Sukasada Sub-district, Buleleng District, Bali Province 1 WCO-Indonesia Situation Report (SR-1) 21 February 2013 Situation Analysis The landslide that happened on Tuesday, 12 February 2013 at 06.00 Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7), in Rempasai Village, Prahu Dipo, South Dempo Sub-district, Pagar Alam City, South Sumatera Province, caused by the heavy rainfalls; The landslide that happened on Friday, 15 February 2013 at 06.15 Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7), in Pasir Angin kampong, RT 01/RW 01, Sukalaksana Village, Talegong Sub-district, Garut District, West Java Province, caused by high intensity of rainfalls; The landslide that happened on Tuesday, 19 February 2013 at 20.00 to 22.00 Central Indonesia Time (UTC+8), in Gitgit Village, Sukasada Sub-district, Buleleng District, Bali Province, caused by heavy rainfalls. Response Local Government The Pagar Alam DHO evacuated the victims, took the dead victims to Basemah Hospital in pagar Alam City for vicum, and conducting searching operation for the missing victim with Disaster preparedness Youth of Ministry of Social (Tagana Kemensos) The Garut DHO evacuated the victims, mobilized RHA (Rapid Health Assessment) Team to the affected areas, set up health post by activating the Talegong Community Health Centre; The Buleleng DHO evacuated the victims.
