FIGHTER PROFILES In order to come up with something usable to make my betting choices, I had to go to multiple websites. I also realized when watching the fighters fight, I gained more useable information than any website could provide. Just because a website gave a fighter’s ‘reach’ doesn’t mean that fighter knows how to use it. This began a journey creating profiles of various designs that has progressed to what you see now. I will be trying to continue to evolve my profiles, so now we can continue that journey together. MY PROGRAM I have done some Horse Racing betting; therefore, I have structured the program to be somewhat similar to the format you would see in a Horse Racing or Dog Racing program. I gather all the information from a fighter’s previous fight and continue to add as the fighter continues fighting. Statistical information is from the ‘tale of the tape’ and if it’s incorrect there, it will be incorrect here. So keep that in mind as your making your choices. FINAL NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR If you plan on using this for sports betting, for coaching, gaining information on a rival fighter, or just for some interesting reading. Please enjoy the results of my little hobby and if you happen to also record and watch your fights in the morning, know that you’re not the only ones enjoying - Combat and Coffee. T. Ells Author Combat and Coffee 9 August 2018 Page 1 COMBAT AND COFFEE DISCLAIMER I am not an expert, making these fight profiles is a hobby I enjoy and this should be taken into consideration when using the program. If you are going to gamble please gamble responsibly and abide by all legalities of your area. MY FIGHTER CLASS SYSTEM A fighter’s record doesn’t always reflect the actual ability of a fighter. Fighters change promotions and each promotion has varying degrees of talent. This possibility of a “padded” record is used to make many of the fighter’s statistics and while % takedown defence or KO to Submissions can be useful for some, but for me, it wasn’t reflective of what the fighter is capable of now. My Class system is similar in theory to horse racing, in that an ‘A’ Class fighter is the elite of their division and is usually, but not necessarily, a top 10 ranked fighter. This system is more performance- based vs statistic based and a fighter will only be as good as their last few fights. The ‘M’ or ‘Maiden’ Class is for new fighters to the promotion because they have yet to prove themselves at a new talent level. Just remember, even with the best information and thinking you have made the best choice possible, sometimes the favorite comes in last. 25 Pro Fighters, Managers, and Coaches Reveal Their Best Tips to Land a Sponsorship by Solmadrid Vazquez Follow me on Twitter here. Sponsorships can make or break you. The problem is, the process of landing a sponsorship is counter-intuitive. Being a great fighter is NOT enough. I’m sure you’ve seen fighters who land sponsors left and right. What’s their secret? How come they can get 27 sponsors in one day and you can’t even get one freakin’ rep to look at you? What THE hell is going on?! To get to this bottom of this conundrum, I contacted some of the best fighters, managers, and trainers in the game and asked them a simple question: “What is your #1 tip to land a sponsorship?” Each tip has a custom tweet link after it so feel free to share your favorite tips with your followers. Let’s Get Ready To Ruuuummmmbllllllleee!!! Frank Shamrock Frank Shamrock is a retired MMA Fighter. He was the first UFC Middleweight Champion and retired as the four-time defending undefeated champion. He was also the first WEC Light Heavyweight Champion, and the first Strikeforce Middleweight Champion. He was a brand spokesman for Strikeforce and is a Sports Commentator for Showtime. Frank can be found at his site, on Facebook, and on Twitter. My number one tip to landing a sponsorship is presenting yourself properly. Present a long-term consistent growth plan that somebody, or a sponsor, could attach themselves to, so you can show how you will grow together. “Present a long-term consistent growth plan.” Tweet this.
