Design of femtosecond laser-written Lieb lattices in fused silica glass. • Theory of spontaneous parametric down-conversion in waveguide arrays with nontrivial topology. • Beam propagation in nonlinear media via split step, symplectic methods. Discrete & periodic lattices. Saturable, nonlocal & photorefractive nonlinearities. Soliton profiles & linear stability. • Undergraduate research on topics including studying the Earth’s inner core with seismic waves, optical trapping of airborne particles, and wakes left by charged particles in plasmas.
