Murrindindi (S)

The Shire of Murrindindi is located in the hills just north of outer metropolitan . The most populous community is Alexandra. Population growth since 2002 has been almost neutral, but is projected to be increase somewhat to 2022. Residents aged less than 45 years are underrepresented in the population, and those aged 45 and older are overrepresented. There is a low level of cultural diversity, individual and household incomes are lower than average, and mortgage stress is higher than average. Only about 6% of residents are near public transport, and Murrundindi has the second highest ownership of passenger vehicles per population and a low proportion of households with no motor vehicle. Fewer than average residents in Murrundindi think their area has good facilities and services.
