Federer is seeking a seventh title at the season finale. He already holds the record for most titles with six, having surpassed Sampras (5) and Lendl (5) with his victory in London in 2011. The Swiss has taken on eight different opponents in his nine previous finals. This will be the third time he has met Djokovic in the final, losing to the Serb in the 2012 final and giving a walkover last year due to a back injury.
