SHARPSHOOTER IMAGING ACQUIRES SHARE of SPORTS VENUE PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS Purchases Majority Share of Fanfoto to Create New Entity SHARPSHOOTER IMAGING ACQUIRES SHARE OF SPORTS VENUE PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS Purchases Majority Share of Fanfoto to Create New Entity BOSTON (June 19, 2007) - Fanfoto, a subsidiary of Fenway Sports Group (FSG), today announced it has created a joint venture with SharpShooter Imaging to form a new entity called Fanfoto, LCC. This fan-centric sports photography business focuses on helping spectators commemorate their experience at sports venues throughout the country. SharpShooter Imaging is the leader in guest souvenir photography at vacation and entertainment destinations across North America. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. SharpShooter Imaging will manage Fanfoto's business operations while FSG will continue to provide marketing and sales expertise. FSG will continue to own a minority stake in the company. SharpShooter Imaging's nationwide management infrastructure provides a model partner to oversee Fanfoto's operations at sports venues across the country. SharpShooter Imaging was founded in 1975 and is one of the largest independent imaging companies in the United States. The company annually photographs more than 26 million guests at over 110 premiere vacation and entertainment destinations including ski resorts, passenger vessels, dinner theaters, aquariums and zoos, train excursions, theme parks and many other well known attractions. SharpShooter Imaging provides services to some of the nation's most recognized and highly-valued entertainment brands including Aspen Skiing Company, Vail Resorts, New World of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium and many more. "SharpShooter Imaging is a trail blazer in the photo industry and the ideal partner for this enterprise," said Mike Dee, President of Fenway Sports Group. "The company's expertise in managing the Fanfoto business will maximize this revenue stream for participating teams and venues. FSG will continue to identify innovative ways to expand this business through its extensive relationships within the sports industry." FSG launched Fanfoto during the 2004 Major League Baseball All-Star Week and currently provides services at professional baseball, basketball, hockey and auto racing events. Fanfoto customers include nine Major League Baseball teams (Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Philadelphia Phillies), two NBA basketball franchises (Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers), two National Hockey League teams (Philadelphia Flyers and Detroit Red Wings), and the California Speedway where Fanfoto photographed the NASCAR Craftsman Truck, Busch Series, and Nextel Cup races this past February. Professional Fanfoto photographers take commemorative pictures of spectators in their seats at their favorite sports games. Later, these spectators can visit the team Web site, find, e-mail and order photos for family and friends. Customers also have the option of customizing the shots for use in a variety of products including shirts, mouse pads, and mugs. "Fanfoto has developed a successful business model within the sports industry that allows consumers to commemorate these memorable trips to their favorite ballparks or stadiums," said Paul Laine, CEO of SharpShooter Imaging. Another round of congratulations to ’08 champ Fresno State and its title-clinching win over Georgia in the All-Bulldog championship series of the 2008 College World Series. The 2008 campaign was an intrigue-filled one, chocked full of memorable performances on the diamond. The coming season promises more of the same. Congratulations are in order for ESPN broadcaster extraordinaire Mike Patrick. Last month Patrick, a fixture in the broadcast booth at the College World Series, was named the recipient of the 34th annual Wilbur Snypp Award, presented annually by the NCBWA for outstanding contributions to college baseball.     The Boston Red Sox Wednesday, August 7, 2019 * The Boston Globe Demise of the Royals a lesson in history for Red Sox Alex Speier Royals manager Ned Yost has seen a lot in baseball, enough that he simultaneously can express surprise and familiarity with the predicament of the Red Sox’ sudden descent into a vortex. Entering 2016, Yost and the Royals sat atop the baseball world. Over several years, the Royals had progressed from a perennial doormat to a contender to a surprise pennant winner in 2014 to finally a champion in 2015. And so, in 2016, Kansas City was elated about mounting a title defense. The team gave no real thought to breaking up an elite core of position players, and indeed, stretched its budget to re-sign free-agent outfielder Alex Gordon to a four-year, $72 million deal. Emboldened with the thought of repeating as champions, the Royals instead sputtered. After a slightly- better-than-sideways 29-22 start, the Royals went 13-16 in June and 7-19 in July. Yet with several players — including outfielder Lorenzo Cain, first baseman Eric Hosmer, third baseman Mike Moustakas, and closer Wade Davis — a year and a half from free agency, Kansas City elected to stand pat at that year’s trade deadline. Even though the Royals were 8½ games out of wild-card contention on July 31, 2016, it was hard for them to ignore the allure of giving their core a chance to win again. Yet even though they played better down the stretch, the Royals’ season ended at 81-81, any echo of the previous year’s glory having been rendered all but inaudible.

The veteran reliever opted out of his minor league contract after learning he will not make the Padres' Opening Day roster. At 37, he is a free agent again. The right-hander signed in January, upon the recommendation of then-Padres executive Omar Minaya. The numbers weren't favorable from the start, with former Tigers teammate Joaquin Benoit locked in as the closer and a slew of options to set him up. Valverde, who once piled up saves, had been released by the Tigers and Mets since late 2013. After auditioning in the Dominican Winter League, Valverde appeared rejuvenated this spring.
