588 Hustler TV FOR THE UNITED STATES DIRECTV RDU DIRECTV receiver reactivation When the Tailwind system has been in the hangar or outside the DIRECTV coverage area for an extended period of time, you may need to perform a reactivation “hit” to receive programming. To reactivate the programming service, first make sure that the aircraft is within the U.S. footprint with favorable weather conditions. Power up the Tailwind system and initialize the aircraft’s altitude reference system. Make sure that the antenna has a clear line of sight to the DIRECTV satellite by tuning each receiver to a preview channel and observing the preview channel video. • If the receiver does not display the preview channel on the cabin monitor, another problem may exist. An activation “hit” will not clear this condition. Call the Collins Customer Support Center (CSC) at +1.319.295.5000, Option 1, with your company name, aircraft type and serial number, and request “reactivation.” Typical reactivation take about 10 minutes, after which time the television programs are received normally. If the Tailwind system loses a programming channel, contact the flight crew. Collins periodically updates authorized satellite services, programs and channel numbers. If you need more information, contact the CSC at +1.319.295.5000, Option 1, with the program name and channel number.
