Genesys Softphone 5 Genesys Softphone 8.5.x Release Note Known Issues and Recommendations Known Issues and Recommendations Genesys Softphone The Known Issues and Recommendations section is a cumulative list for all 8.5.x releases of Genesys Softphone. This section provides the latest information on known issues and recommendations associated with this product. It includes information on when individual items were found and, if applicable, corrected. The Resolved Issues section for each release describes the corrections and may list additional issues that were corrected without first being documented as Known Issues. See also Internationalization Issues. Limitation: The log_filter option is not supported when Genesys Softphone is configured through HTTP Connector. Releases Info • List of 8.5.x Releases • 8.5.x Known Issues Resolved Issues Product Documentation This release contains the following resolved issues: Genesys Softphone Genesys Products Genesys Softphone no longer drops an outgoing call in situations where the initial INVITE transaction interlaces with the transaction of the List of Release Notes subsequent REINVITE. Previously, when the ACK message of the initial INVITE was received after the subsequent REINVITE, the call made by the agent was immediately dropped. (SOFTPHONE-366) When the value of the use_headset option is set to 1, Genesys Softphone now selects the Default Communication Device specified in Windows Audio Settings in situations where the value of the headset_name option is empty or configured with a value that does not match any audio device on the workstation. (SOFTPHONE-362) The values of the options audio_in_device and audio_out_device are now correctly taken into account when they are specified with the entire name of the audio device. (SOFTPHONE-360) When the ACK of a SIP request is missing or received after the timeout, Genesys Softphone no longer blacklists the corresponding IP/port pair or switches to another SIP Proxy location. Genesys Softphone 9 Genesys Softphone 8.5.x Release Note Release 8.5.4 8.5.401.03 Genesys Softphone Release Notes Release Date Release Type Restrictions AIX Linux Solaris Windows 12/14/17 General X What's New Helpful Links This release contains the following new features and enhancements: Releases Info • For improved security, the local IP address is no longer included in the • List of 8.5.x Releases Call-ID header of SIP messages sent by Genesys Softphone. • 8.5.x Known Issues • A new provisioning mechanism is introduced to simplify the enabling and the prioritization of the supported audio codecs both in standalone and HTTP connector modes. This is based on the new audio setting in the enabled section of the codecs domain. In Workspace Web Edition, this new option is named sipendpoint.codecs.enabled.audio. Product Documentation This new mechanism replaces the former configuration model, based on the Workspace Web Editon sipendpoint.codecs.<codec- Genesys Softphone name>.priority option, which was applicable to HTTP Connector mode only. Genesys Products • You can now specify the value * for the headset_name option when the value of the use_headset option is set to 1 (indicating that Genesys List of Release Notes Softphone selects the device specified as the default in the Windows Audio Settings). Previously, the value * was not supported as a valid value. Resolved Issues This release contains the following resolved issues: Genesys Softphone no longer exits unexpectedly when it processes an incoming zero-length UDP packet. (SOFTPHONE-402) Genesys Softphone running in HTTP Connector mode now correctly supports the setting of the value 1 to the ringing_enabled option, which specifies playing a ringtone only through the system default device. (SOFTPHONE-337) Genesys Softphone 10 Genesys Softphone 8.5.x Release Note Release 8.5.4 Genesys Softphone no longer fails to initialize when the gui-tabs option is specified with a value other than status,calls,devices.
