The “Doctors’ Expo and Health Fair” is part of the packed schedule of events. The Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation, or DGF, is a local nonprofit that works to educate the community on health issues, and more, through its two annual public events in the county, conducted in the spring and fall. Established in 2003, the organization has had a global reach, too, over the years with its on–the–ground humani- tarian efforts in a number of Third World countries, where team members have helped save lives through their medical–provider work. Childhood obesity is a serious medical condition that affects more than 25 percent of Brevard County children and adolescents.
