This 2014 Quick Facts is the first year the club has gone by the name “Michigan Stars.” Last Lansing United season the team name was “FC Sparta” and the club played out of All-Time Record 0-1-0 Hurley Field in Berkley. They now play their home matches at the Star International Academy in Dearborn Heights. Location East Lansing, Mich. Field East Lansing Soccer Complex BOYZZZ BRINGS MLS EXPERIENCE Capacity 800 United midfielder Boyzzz Khumalo is the lone player on the club that Established 2014 has Major League Soccer experience. Khumalo was the first signing in League NPSL team history and hopes to make an immediate impact. He was drafted by the Chicago Fire in 2005 but made his MLS debut in 2008, signing Region Midwest with D.C. United on loan. While with D.C. United, Khumalo made 27 Conference Great Lakes West appearances and scored one goal (against the Los Angeles Galaxy). Colors Light blue & red Owner Jeremy Sampson ROSTER ANNOUNCED Lansing United, along with head coach/GM Eric Rudland, announced the complete roster for the club’s 2014 inaugural season on Monday, Coaching Staff May 12. “Our staff of coaches has been working hard to recruit both Head Coach Eric Rudland quality players and men into the organization,” Rudland said. “It was a Career Record 0-1-0 combined effort and we are pleased with the overall depth and talent Assistant Coach Ben Jones of our roster. YOUTH CAMPS The club will host two youth camps over the summer, with instruction provided by coach Rudland, other members of the Lansing United coaching staff, and team players. The camps will be hosted at the East Lansing Soccer Complex and players of all ages are welcome. The first camp will be held from June 23-June 26 (9 a.m. to noon) and the sec- ond camp will be held from July 7-July 10 (9 a.m. to noon).
