MK: Great! Does anyone have a favorite love song they listen to on Valentines Day?

JANE: I do! My favorite song to listen to on Valentine’s Day is Smiling Face by .

MK: Why don’t we listen to it!

Song #2 Smiling Face by James Taylor

Whenever I see , I have to smile myself Because I love you, yes, I do. And when you give me that pretty little pout, It turns me inside out. There's something about you, baby, I don't know.

Isn't it amazing a man like me Can feel this way, Tell me how much longer, It could grow stronger every day. Oh, how much longer?

I thought I was in love a couple of times Before with the girl next door, But that was long before I met you, Now I'm sure that I won't forget you. And I thank my lucky stars That you are who you are, And not just another lovely lady Set out to break my heart.

Isn't it amazing a man like me Can feel this way, Tell me how much longer, It could grow stronger every day.

No one can tell me that I'm doing wrong today, whenever I see you smile at me. No one can tell me that I'm doing wrong today Whenever I see your smiling face my way. No one can tell me that I'm doing it wrong today. No one can tell me that I'm doing it wrong today.

MK: What do you like to eat on Valentines Day?

LAINE: I like to make sugar cookies for my friends and for my family.

MK: Why don’t you share the recipe for sugar cookies with us!

LAINE: I would love to! Lets all make sugar cookies together Children!

JANE: Those sound yummy! What ingredients do we need to make sugar cookies?

LAINE: you will need 340 grams of butter , 400 grams of sugar, 4 eggs, 5 mL of vanilla extract, 625 grams of flour, 10 mL of baking soda, and 5 mL of salt.

JANE: I have all of my ingredients. Are you ready children?

Pause for five seconds

LAINE: I’m ready too. Let’s get started.

First you need to find a big bowl and a big spoon. In the big bowl, mix together the butter and sugar. Next, you need to add the 4 eggs and vanilla. Finally, add the flour , baking soda, and salt.

Now you need to heat your oven to 200 degrees. Roll out the dough and cut the dough into whatever shape you want.

JESS: Since it’s Valentines Day let’s cut the cookies into hearts.

LAINE: I like that idea! Okay everyone lets cut our cookies into hearts.. After you have finished cutting your cookies into hearts place them on a baking sheet and let them bake for 8 minutes.

MK: While we wait for our cookies to bake lets listen to one of my favorite songs about love and friendship, Lean on Me by Bill Withers.

Song #3 Lean on Me by Bill Withers Sometimes in our lives We all have pain We all have sorrow But if we are wise We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong And I'll be your friend I'll help you carry on For it won't be long 'Til I'm gonna need Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride If I have things you need to borrow For no one can fill those of your needs That you won't let show [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/b/bill_withers/lean_on_me.html ] You just call on me brother, when you need a hand (Chorus) We all need somebody to lean on I just might have a problem that you'd understand We all need somebody to lean on

Second Verse (Chorus)

If there is a load you have to bear That you can't carry I'm right up the road I'll share your load If you just call me (Chorus) Call me (if you need a friend) Call me (call me) Call me (if you need a friend) Call me (if you ever need a friend) Call me (call me) Call me Call me (if you need A friend)

JESS: Looks like we still have some time before our sugar cookies are ready why don’t we read a story.
