Our Adventure o!ers the perfect setting for the plein-air artist, with access to 3 of ’s iconic ; the red sands of Outback Australia, the stunning Eastern Australian coastline and Sydney City’s iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Led by the incredible Judy Carducci (PSA) with the local knowledge of Australian Artable School founder Gillian Grove, this trip can cater to the beginner artist or the well experienced.

We have a magical 10 days to experience some of the best plein-air painting Australia has to o!er. We commence our trip with a night in Sydney to capture the beauty of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. are proud of 2 of our most famous national landmarks and we have the perfect painting site to capture both at once. Sydney city is alive with Australia’s history providing the perfect start to our journey.

Flying from Sydney airport, we travel inland for our outback adventure. Rising out of the surrounding Central Australian desert and Kata Tjuta dominate the . The spectacular red rocks and domes are millions upon millions of years old. Considered to be Australia’s spiritual heart, Uluru is renowned for its changing light and colours - a painters paradise. We will paint Uluru in both morning and afternoon light and the incredible landscape of the Kata Tjuta which is made up of 36 impressive dome formations lying west of Uluru. Making the most of our stay, we will hear the Tjukurpa (Aboriginal) stories and enjoy the famous Sounds of Silence dinner on our final outback night, where we dine under a canopy of stars enjoying an Aboriginal dance performance and introduction to Aboriginal culture.

After heading back to the coast we wind our way south by bus along the stunning Australian east coast to Murramarang National Park and away from the buzz of Sydney. Staying in beachfront cabins, we will spend our days exploring the coastline for the best painting spots. This part of the Australian coast is renowned for its fresh seafood, quaint fishing towns and stunning landscape with a visit to Tilba for a unique step back in time to one of our perfectly preserved heritage villages. ACCOMODATION Sydney sees us staying in the comfort of The Sir Stamford and Radisson Hotel. In order to access the best of Uluru, we will be hosted by the Outback Pioneer Hotel. In Murramarang you will enjoy comfortable beachfront villas. Share rooms of 2 -3.

MEALS Almost all meals are included for your convenience. In order to allow us to experience the local restaurant cuisine, 4 lunches and 3 dinners are NOT included in the package price (dinners out average $35.00 AUD / lunches $15.00 AUD). All breakfasts are included.

CLIMATE We have picked late Autumn to travel for this trip to cater to the range of climates we are visiting and to optimise comfort for painting, given this is the focus of our trip. In Sydney and Murramarang you can expect temperatures averaging around 65F. It can get down to around 51F. Uluru is renowned for its extreme temperatures, but May is considered to be the optimal time to go in terms of managing air clarity, heat and flies. The weather ranges from 46-73F.

CLOTHING You will need to pack clothing appropriate to the temperatures outlined above keeping in mind that our morning and afternoon painting times can get cool. The flies in Australia can be extreme and you will each be provided with fly nets (that go over the face) which you will need (mostly in Uluru). Having your legs and arms covered with something light helps with both flies and the sun. Bring along some sturdy and comfortable walking shoes as we will be walking to some of our painting spots.

TRAVEL / TRANSFERS IN AUSTRALIA You will need to find your own way to our accomodation at the Sir Stamford at Circular Quay on the first day. Our accomodation is close to our Sydney painting site which we will walk to. We will fly to Uluru (flights included) and we will travel by bus to our Murramarang accomodation. We will return to our original hotel in Sydney for the end of our tour. All internal bus travel is included for the duration of the trip however, transfers from the hotel to the airport for your international flights are your responsibility.

TRAVEL INSURANCE Travel insurance is not included in the cost, it is highly recommended and should be organized by you.

ART SESSIONS Judy Carducci will be facilitating our plein-air sessions. We will be working in the traditional French Plein-Air manner taking in the cultural sites as we go. You will need to bring all art materials, easels etc with you.

FLIGHTS Flights to and from Australia are your responsibility, flights within Australia are included in the price of the trip.

PAYMENT A deposit of $500AUD to secure your spot/booking will need to be made by 30 October 2014. Payment for the remaining amount will need to be made by 15 January 2015.

This trip relies heavily on group numbers, therefore it is necessary to charge a cancellation fee to cover accomodation fees, however if we decide to cancel the trip at any time we will provide you with a FULL REFUND. We are not responsible for expenses incurred in the preparation for any trips (even cancelled trips), such as airline tickets, travel delays, flight cancellations or health problems. There is no refund if you arrive late or decide to leave the trip early. We will take the first 10 bookings to this trip. Deposits secure your place.

CANCELLATION / REFUND Cancellation fees are determined accordingly: On or before 1 January 2015 = $500AUD On or before 1 Feburary 2015 = 50% trip cost After this time there will be no refunds.

Exceptions cannot be made for any reason and there is no refund for arriving late or leaving a trip early. If we must cancel a trip, all payments received to date will be refunded and this constitutes full settlement. We are not responsible for expenses incurred in preparation for any trips (even cancelled trips), such as airline tickets, travel delays, flight cancellations or health problems. This tour will be held regardless of world events.

RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE Artable employees, a!iliates, successors, or assigns are not liable for any negligent or willful act or failure to act, of any person, third party or entity which is to, or provides goods or services including but not limited to: transportation companies, equipment suppliers, food service providers etc I acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in this trip with the knowledge of the inherent risks and dangers involved, including but not limited to: negligence on the part of Artable, its employees, physical exertion, forces of nature, transportation failures, consumption of alcohol, risks with food or unpure water, civil unrest, terrorism, criminal activity, wild or other animals, failure of equipment, accident or illness, or availability of medical supplies or services or adequacy of medical attention once provided and lost/stolen/or misplaced luggage or property. I hereby agree to be responsible for my own welfare and accept any and all risks of delay, unanticipated events, inconvenience, illness, injury, emotional trauma, death. I hereby release and discharge forever Artable and employees, from and against any and all liability arising from my participation in this trip. I agree that this release is legally binding upon me, all members of my family and all minors traveling with me, my and their heirs, successors, assigns, and legal representatives, it being my intention to release Artable and employees, successors, a"liates, and assigns from any and all liability to the maximum extent by law. I acknowledge that to participate, Artable reserve the right to remove me or any participant it judges incapable of meeting the rigors of activities or who detracts from the enjoyment of the trip by others. I will follow all safety rules presented to me either written or oral by Artable.
