GRADE RELEASE

I understand that by signing below that I must have the minimum cumulative grade point average (IFC: 2.8; NPC: 2.75; NPHC: 2.5) and 12 credits completed to become a member of a Fraternal Organization at Elon University. I do hereby authorize Elon University to release to Student Development, my Fraternity/Sorority President or Scholarship Chairperson, Faculty/Staff Advisor, and my Inter/National Fraternal Organization my current semester and cumulative grade point average for the purpose of award recognition, chapter scholarship programming, and for verification of minimum academic standards. I hereby authorize Student Conduct to share my disciplinary information with Fraternity & Sorority Life and Student Development. I understand that this authorization shall remain in effect as long as I remain a member of the fraternity and sorority community and am enrolled at Elon University. If I no longer wish to have my records released, I understand that I must request that in writing with Fraternity & Sorority Life or the Dean for Student Development.

Elon Statement of Non-Hazing

Must be initialed before or immediately after accepting an invitation for membership

Elon University represents a place of high academic studies. The University and your fraternity have unconditionally opposed any situation created intentionally, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, bodily injury, or ridicule. Freedom from the humility and danger of hazing is every student’s right. Any violations of this should be reported immediately to Student Development in Moseley 206 or Student Conduct in the Center for Leadership. As a fraternity/sorority member, I acknowledge my awareness of the position of the University and my fraternity/sorority regarding hazing, and pledge that I will work to eliminate all forms of hazing practices found within my fraternity/sorority chapter, as well as uphold all other regulations and rules of the University.
