Tim Von Dohlen Dr. Ned Vanders The Von Dohlen Group Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Diocese of Austin Dear Friends, On behalf of the 163 students enrolled at San Juan Diego Catholic High School (SJDCHS) in the 2012-2013 school year, I am pleased to present this Annual Report with a summary of the school’s progress. One-hundred percent of SJDCHS graduates are accepted to college and the Class of 2013 was no different. On May 28, the 26 graduates were awarded diplomas for fulfilling the requirements for the Distinguished Achievement Program of the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department. Collectively, they received over 50 offers of admission from colleges around the country and were offered over $550,000 in college scholarships. Thanks to the rigorous college preparatory education and their hard work, 69 percent will be first generation college graduates. This school year was also a tremendous year for the Athletic Department with several history-breaking seasons. In the fall, both Girls and Boys Cross Country teams competed in the TAPPS State Meet, earning 7th and 16th place respectively. SJD Soccer made it to play-offs for the first time in school history. The Baseball and Softball teams both had competitive seasons and finished strong. SJDCHS promises students every opportunity to excel- spiritually, academically, and professionally. It is only with your support that SJDCHS has been able to accept each motivated, hard-working student who walks through our doors and create a unique opportunity for students with the greatest financial and educational needs.
