SMITH Groceries, Confectionery, Drinks, Spacioll1ing In Bread, Cake1, Pies, Congratulations to the two sides in ell three grades who contest Smallgoods, Cigarettes, Etc. Pestry and Wedding Caku today's fixtures. AR,AH STREET, ARDLETHAN Phone WHITTON 552659 All Clubs throughout the league have been co-operative, and honourad their obligations which adds to smooth running. Narrendera are to be complimented in having a side in all three grades. With EDITORIAL such depth I think it reasonable that we could expect a fourth side from this Club in the future - perhaps 1980. A grHt effort by the Narrandera Club to once again have thrN sides in the grand finals and all with a good chance of winning premierships. Narrandera Is the only club During 1979 our League participated in the Winfield V.C r-.L. in South West to have won all three grades previously being in 1972 under Jeff Hemphill Country Football Championships at Echuca. We were defeated by and in 1974 under Adrian Collier. Narrandera Club has shown its strength o,-er many last years Champions. Goulburn Valley, but acquitted ourselves well in performance and years and we believe this is due lo the depth in the club'1 ranks. In turn this gets back brought credit to the South Western District Football League. We thank Winfield for lo committee and Narrandera han a strong and hard working committee who have got the club into this position. It will be a fine tribute to these men and women if the three the opportunity to contest, and the $830.00, being our share of the ptizemoney aides re successful in today's premier events of the HHOn. Congratulations also to the other three clubs parlicipting in today's events, Ariah Park-Mirrool in first grade, In June last we hosted the N S.W. State Championships at Narrandera, contesied Griffith in seconds and Turvey Park in under 191. between the Farrer, Murray, and S.W.D.F.L. Our League proved their ability in Ariah P.irk, Turvey Park and Narrandera reHrvea proved themselves worthy grand winning these titles before a very pleasing crowd. Next year's State Titles are to be finalists whon they won their preliminary finals lut Sunday. Ariah Park will be contesting hosted by Murray, and will be played at , where accommodation, the playing their socond grand final in three years, Griffith are going for a second succeuivo area and necessary amenities are very good. premier1hip and Narrandera under 19s are hoping to add to their already impressive record. My congratulation to our League's Best and Fairest winners: Barry Nolan, It is worth noting that Narrandera under 191 have wone nine of the 12 premier ships contested in under 19s and thirds - it's a fontastic effort and one which the ch,b Coach being the Gammage Medalist; Geoff Clark of Turvey Park Reserves, the Lanham can be proud. No doubt from what we've just said, patrons at today's game are going Medal; and Bruce Lally of Ardlethan under nineteens, the Petts Trophy. Also congratu to see a f■Ht of fine football today. We would like to welcome the all important member, lations to the leading goal kickers, Mark Newton, Ariah Park-Mirrool Coach; Bruce Clark. of the general public to the South West grand flnal1 and ho(M their 1tay is enjoyable. Narrandera Reserves; and Rodney Knagge, Narrandera under nineteens. Ther• are always many visitors to South Wett on grand flnal day and we HY a special welcome to them.
