Jesuit H.S./Tualatin Hills Thunderbolts As a Lady Razorback: As one of the most versatile swimmers on the team, Angela Kora competed in the 100 back, 200 back, 500 free, 1,000 free, 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 and 400 IM events. In the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 back events, Kora recorded her best times of the season at the Southeastern Conference Championship meet. Kora’s best time in the 100 back, 100 breast and 1,000 free occurred at Washington State. Last season, Kora was honored with the 2004-05 Scholar-Athlete award. Kora had nine top five finishes as a sophomore. Kora’s best finish of the year was second place at Purdue in the 200 IM. Against Houston, Kora finished in third place in the 1,000 free. Kora swam in nine different events in her first year with the Lady Razorbacks. She started the year strong with a second-place finish in the 1,000 free against Drury. Kora placed fifth in the 1,000 free and sixth in the 100 back in a dual with Georgia. Kora was a three-time member of the SEC Honor Roll. Prior to Arkansas: While competing for the Tualatin Hills Thunderbolts, Kora was a senior sectional qualifier and ranked in the top five for the state of Oregon in the 200 back. Competing at the highest levels throughout her prep career, Kora was a multiple event finalist every year she competed at the Oregon state championships. Her club squad finished first at the state championships and was sixth at the senior west sectionals in the summer of 2002. She was a three-year letterwinner and state qualifier, and was the recipient of her club squad’s Yellow Jersey Commitment to Excellence award. Kora also served as her high school’s valedictorian and won awards in the English, Japanese and computer science departments. She was also active in campus ministry and a member of the National Honor Society. Kora competed in triathlons and was first in her age group and the 11th female overall at the Hagg Lake Triathlon in 2002. Personal: Born Angela Rose Kora on July 22, 1984, she is the daughter of Masa and Rosemary Kora. She has one sister, Kristina. Kora is majoring in mechanical engineering on a Chancellor’s Scholarship. Klein Oak H.S./The Woodlands Swim Club As a Lady Razorback: As a Lady Razorback: Mariann Fulop’s versatility showed in her sophomore season as she won multiple Kristen Thibodeaux redshirted due to a medical injury her junior season and has two events against Drury, Kentucky and Louisville.
