Tuesday, October 7, 2014 www.lakecityreporter.com 4A OUR OPINION Share real truth about Columbia Co. Jacksonville television station, hav- ing stumbled onto a false Internet A report calling Columbia County one of the most dangerous places in America, trumpeted the news as if it were true. A simple check of the facts would have shown otherwise. We cover local news, including crime, for a living, and twice a year we report Florida Department of Law Enforcement totals for the area. Columbia County is nowhere near the most dangerous place in North Florida, the state, or much less the nation. The television station chose to spread this false report without lifting a finger to look. They broadcast it and published it on their company website.
