2017 Legislative Impacts Summary

District Fire HB 2 Details Representative/Senator Yea Nay GFFR is one of the six (6) State HazMat Technician teams. The State budget cut the HM Response budget from $22,000 to $11,000. District Infrastructure HB 6,7,11, Details Representative/Senator Yea Nay The RRGL, RDGP, and TSEP bills were amended to include funding for all projects with a combination of special revenue account funding and contingency HD 19 Wendy McKamey (R) X on another bill that would fund the remaining projects with bonding proceeds (either HB 645 or SB 367). Neither bonding bill was passed. With just available cash funding for each program, cities and towns will receive $11.5 million in TSEP funds, $875,000 in RRGL funds, and $775,000 in RDGP funds. District Law Enforcement HB 133 Details Representative/Senator Yea Nay Requires law enforcement to fingerprint and photograph individuals who were issued criminal citations for misdemeanor crimes HD 19 Wendy McKamey (R) X and not taken to jail. Fingerprinting occurs at the time of their appearance in court (i.e. theft, disorderly conduct, assault etc.). Law HD 20 Fred Anderson (R) X removes the ability to take people to jail for certain misdemeanor crimes. If the charges do not result in a conviction, the prints and photos must be returned to the individual by the arresting agency.
