Matins • April 25, 2021 Fourth Sunday of Easter

Welcome Welcome to worship at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church! Although the pandemic is still with us, we continue to gather to receive the gifts that God has for us in the Divine Service with appropriate safety measures in place. Some reminders: • Please maintain 6 feet between family groups. • At the 8am service, please keep your mask on throughout the service, including while we’re singing. At the 10:45am service, mask usage is optional but encouraged. • At the end of worship, wait for an usher to release your row. It’s helpful if you leave a bulletin in the pew or seat where you were sitting, so we know where to focus our attention as we sanitize. Holy Communion is offered as part of worship on the first and third Sundays of the month. In addition, we offer Drive-Thru Communion from time to time and Holy Communion by appointment with Pr. Longman. Please take advantage of the setting that is best for your risk and comfort levels. If you’re new here, WELCOME! Thank you for coming. We pray that our time together in the Word would build up and strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ. Please fill out the Connection Card that you’ll find in the pews, return it in the offering plate on your way out, and come again. As a reminder, be sure to turn off or silence your cell phone during the service. If you don’t have a church home in Northwest Arkansas, we invite you to consider making Holy Trinity your church home. Speak with Pastor Longman or one of our elders for more information.

As We Gather The Good Shepherd, Jesus, lays down His life for the sheep. It is Christ alone who has the loving authority to own us, care for us, and redeem us. Christ – crucified by men, resurrected by God – begets healing, life, and salvation. He has done it all for us. Just as Christ acts on our behalf, we, too, are to love one another, not merely by speaking about love, but by engaging thoroughly in acts of truth and mercy.

First Reading Acts 4:1-12

1 And as [Peter and John] were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them, 2 greatly annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3 And they arrested them and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. 4 But many of those who had heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand. 5 On the next day their rulers and elders and scribes gathered together in Jerusalem, 6 with Annas the high priest and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly family. 7 And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, “By what power or by what name did you do this?” 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders, 9 if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, 10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well. 11 This Jesus is
