Season 41 At The PMAC It was the 1971-72 season that the first game was played in the then LSU Assembly Center, opening the building on Jan. 3, 1972 against Vanderbilt, an 80-73 loss. The Tigers got their first win in the building on Jan. 6, 1972 against Georgetown, 90-71. LSU will be trying to get its home court advantage back this season at the Maravich Center after winning just 8-of-18 games a year ago. The Tigers still have a good per- centage in the building’s history of 462-165 (73.8%) overall, including 248-37 (87.3%) in non-conference contests … Trent Johnson is 29-6 in his four years as head coach at LSU in home non-conference contests.
