Puneri Paltan beat U Mumba 26-24 A terrific second half performance from Puneri Paltan saw them beat U Mumba 26-24. It was a good all- round team effort as Puneri Paltan who didn’t choke under pressure at any point of the match. Deepak Niwas Hooda scored seven points for Pune whereas Kashiling Adake scored the same for U Mumba. U Mumba crashed to the fifth defeat of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League and now have 18 points from eight games. Puneri Paltan have 26 points from seven games. Deepak Niwas Hooda got Puneri Paltan going with a raid in the second minute. Shrikant Jadhav scored his second raid point as U Mumba leveled the game at 3-3 after mthinutes. Kashiling Adake scored a raid point in the 10 minute as U Mumba led 5-4. th U Mumba inflicted an al out in the 14 minute as they led 11-4. Deepak Hooda scored his third raid point as Puneri Paltan trailed 5-11. Kashthiling Adake scored with a two-point raid in the 19 minute as U Mumba led 15-6. Puneri Paltan scored three minutes in the last minute as they went into the break trailing 9-15. U Mumba scored two points in the first three minutes of the second half to lead 17-9. Sandeetph Narwal scored with a two-point raid in the 15 minute as Puneri Paltan trailed 11-17. U Mumba were unfazed and Puneri Paltan had their moments to make a comeback. After 30 minutes, U Mumba led 19-13. Puneri Paltan had two chances of inflicting an all out but couldn’t capitalize as they trailed 15-19 after 33 mitnhutes. Puneri Paltan finally inflicted an al out in the 34 minute as they trailed 19-20. U Mumba led 22-20 after 35 minutes as they sent Deepak Hooda to the bench. Both teams exchanged points in the next one minute as U Mumba led t2h3-22. Puneri Paltan led for the first time 24-23 in 38 th minute. U Mumba tied the game at 24-24 in 39 minute but Pune led again after scoring a tackle point. Puneri Paltan held on to their nerve as they won 26- 24 after producing a terrific second half performance..

How the drama unfolds will depend on the result of the U Mumba-Puneri Paltan match on Monday which is critical to the prospects of the Telugu Titans. With U Mumba having qualified for the play-offs the fight for the last two berths is between Puneri Paltan, Bengal Warriors and Telugu Titans with the last named in a disadvantageous position. Bringing up the Rear Without a Win Each Are Puneri Paltan and Last
28 July 2015 Season 1 finalists, U Mumba seem to be replaying history repeating their successful run with their sixth straight win in Season 2 of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi. Can they finish on top with an unbeaten record? That will be answered come Saturday when they play Dabang Delhi who have had a mixed bag of success having won two of their four matches till date and lie in fourth place behind Telugu Titans and Bengaluru Bulls. Both the teams from the South have four wins each from five outings with the Titans placed in second spot having tallied 21 points to 20 gained by the Bulls. Right now, the top three are well placed and a good second leg will assure them a place in the play-offs. Bringing up the rear without a win each are Puneri Paltan and last season’s champions Jaipur Pink Panthers with just three points as a result of having managed to lose three of their matches each by a margin of less than seven points. Placed above them are injury-hit Bengal Warriors and Patna Pirates. Both have seven points in five and three matches respectively. The latter are scheduled to play their next four matches at home in Patna before the caravan moves into the second half of Season 2 and will be hoping to improve their standing with support from the home crowd. The Pirates start their campaign on home turf with a tough encounter against Telugu Titans followed by a meeting with Dabang Delhi, Puneri Paltan and Bengal Warriors in that order.
