This first electric train also made a history and a world record as it was the first full height double stack container train operated on electric traction. On comparative analysis of the energy cost -During the period from 10.06.2020 to 30.11.2020, 355 freight trains were hauled on electric trains in SUNR-BTD section, by which substantial savings to the tune of Rs. 66,61,201/- could be achieved. ENERGY CONSERVATION AND EFFICIENCY Divisional office – Bhavnagar was awarded the Third Prize (Certificate of Merit) in National Energy Conservation award-2019 in Institution category by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of power. The award was given in glittering ceremony at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 14.12.2019 during the energy conservation day celebration. Cumulative consumption of 2020-21 till Nov. 2020 is 2294376 KWH as compared to corresponding period of last year i.e. 3431452 KWH leading to total saving of 1137076 KWH (33.13%). Under Project BULK RSP, this division has completed the replacement of conventional light with LED light in all 513 AC and Non – AC coaches (Included 22 LHB Coaches). ISO 50001-2011 have been awarded for Energy Management system for Divisional office, Bhavnagar on 21.08.2018 for three years. Improvement of Illumination level as per Airport standards – 5 stations (Bhavnagar Terminus, Veraval, Botad, Junagadh & Keshod) Target of 100% LED lighting over all stations & service buildings achieved – Total 8520 Nos LED Light fittings of 18/20W & 25W provided at stations Saving of 7,84,177 units and energy cost of Rs.51.53 lakhs annually. PROJECT UTKRISHT To upgrade passenger coach facility and enhancing aesthetic look of ICF coaches, total 13 rakes of Bhavnagar division are completed under “Project Utkrisht” for upgraded passenger amenities. • Food Distribution to the needy and poor people. • Running of 31 Shramik Special train for stranded migrants. • Conversion of 72 coaches to Covid Care Center (CCC). • Provision of 200 quarantine beds • Para Medical staff deployed to Sir T. Hospital, Bhavnagar as per request of the State Government. • 100% staff of Bhavnagar division contributed Rs. 75,31,818/- to PM cares fund for CORONA-19. FOOD DISTRIBUTION TO THE NEEDY AND POOR PEOPLE During this period food packets, water bottles, Masks, hand gloves, ration kits were distributed to the needy people & staff on a mass scale up to May-2020 (Total 17966 Food Packets distributed to the needy in and an around Railway Stations and colonies). FACILITATING MOVEMENT OF MIGRANT WORKERS BY SHRAMIK SPECIAL 31 Shramik special trains From Bhavnagar Terminus, Dhola, Junagadh, Porbandar 43,602 migrants having destinations in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal states. Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat felicitated and honoured the team Western Railway by conferring four Divisional Railway Managers on behalf of Team WR, with appreciation mementoes on Wednesday, 3rd June, 2020 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. CONVERSION OF COACHES TO COVID CARE CENTER (CCC) • Total 72 coaches (Veraval-11, Porbandar-6, Bhavnagar-13, Bhavnagar carriage workshop-42) converted as per norms into Isolation / Quarantine facility. • 3 COVID Special rakes. • Hospital/Plastic curtains are provided in first cabin (near bathroom) to use as store/paramedics area. • Arrangement for keeping two oxygen cylinders. • Middle berths from Sleeper coaches are removed. • Each lower berth is equipped with two bottle holders. • Bathroom equipped with bucket, mug, soap dispenser etc. • Each cabin equipped with three pedal type dustbins lined with garbage bag • Coach windows fitted with Mosquito net. • Fire extinguishers are placed. COVID-19 PANDEMIC PREPAREDNESS 200 Quarantine Beds Nine Bedded Isolation Ward for COVID- 19 Positive patients in Divisional Hospital- Bhavnagar Training program for staff to meet any emergency during COVID patient treatment. Awareness programs and IEC activities done for containment of COVID-19. Central Oxygen Supply Extended for further 16 beds and Operation Theatre. Separate FEVER CLINIC Started to contain spread of COVID-19. Procurement of Fundus Camera for contactless fundus examination. Procurement of Ventilator and Non-Invasive Ventilators (Bi-Pap). SANITIZATION OF COACHES Sanitization of coaches by using the Lizol 2% from outside and inside and specific parts of the coach that come in contact of passengers like - Coach door handles, Hand rails, Taps, Lavatories, attached health faucets etc. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on public transport and Railway has also faced adverse consequences. Economic activities disrupted. People got stranded. Poor people badly affected. Owing to running of parcel special and six passenger special train, Rs. 2.80 Cr. have been realised as parcel revenue upto Nov.20 as against Rs.
